There's always something trending within the social media industry, they either last or pass through quickly. As of this year, they are many trends currently rising such as being on TikTok, influencer marketing, social commerce, etc. As an influencer, following these trends comes by responsibility. Following the influencer code of ethics is very important to be successful on social media, even when following trends. As an example, I would be interested in joining the RISPCA’s social media team. Being an animal shelter/adopting agency, this company needs to follow certain ethics. Some of the current code of ethics you would have to follow would be being respectful, protecting confidential information, being truthful, properly sourcing, admitting mistakes and taking accountability, to name a few important ones. On the topic of companies, Apple has an extremely strong social media ethical code where they use proper ethical practices. I would also like to talk about a professional/celebrity that has good ethics online, Mr. Beast. Mr. Beast is a YouTuber with over 100 million subscribers. He is known for letting his subscribers play against each other for rewards, but some people don’t know most of the good things he does. For example, Mr. Beast has his two very own companies, Mr. Beast Burgers and Feastibles. He is a co-creator of Team Trees, a company that has planted over 20 million trees, and he has also helped a countless number of fundraisers. Overall, he likes to be interactive with his audience, which is something useful I would like to use going forward in the social media industry. Â
There are a few concepts that I personally believe are important to adhere to when I practice online. Most were already named, but again, being responsible and truthful with my work is a huge one. When working online, I need to be responsible with whatever I’m doing. When viewing others online, I look for responsibility and the truth. I would also make sure I properly cite my sources when using others work, as not doing so is a huge problem. Also, making sure I am equal and fair to my audience as a whole is very important to me. One last thing is that I would make sure that I take accountability for my actions, as this will shape character and prove to others that I am trustworthy and responsible. I would completely avoid is not doing any of these. Building foundation is key, and ignoring these basic ethical codes would put you in a real bad position. Â

Oppure sarà perché una sera un amico, direttore IT di un grosso ente, mi ha invitato a cena e mi ha fatto provare dei visori 3D di ultima generazione sotto forma di occhiali in cui si inserisce il cellulare e si ha la possibilità di immergersi completamente in una realtà virtuale, che si cotruisce seguendo le direzioni del proprio sguardo.
Più probabilmente sarà per tutti e tre questi motivi insieme, che mi ha colpito l'intervista apparsa sul settimanale tedesco der Spiegel al filosofo Thomas Metzinger. La rivoluzione digitale ci permette di assumere altre identità . Dove ci porta questo? Alla perdita dell’io?

SPIEGEL: Li ha provati?
METZINGER: Naturalmente. Nella realtà virtuale sono stati sviluppati dei modelli corporei molto buoni, praticamente già i primi modelli di un io artificale. L’ultima volta che ero in laboratorio, mi sono incarnato in una donna, che era alta come un ragazzino di 14 anni. Ho guardato con i suoi occhi, poi tutto d’un tratto lei è stata aggredita da un altro Avatar.
SPIEGEL: Spiacevole…
METZINGER: Per un momento mi sono spaventato: indossavo questi visori 3D sotto forma di occhiali, ero seduto in una stanza, immerso nella realtà virtuale, nella TV davano un video musicale, c’era un camino col fuoco acceso, quando ho guardato in basso e mi sono accorto, che il mio Avatar non era ancora stato creato. Avevo la sensazione di essere seduto, ma guardando in basso ho visto solo la sedia vuota.
SPIEGEL: Mancava qualcosa…
METZINGER: Si, il mio corpo. Raccapricciante.
SPIEGEL: A cosa servono queste prove?
METZINGER: Hanno a che fare con la percezione. Per esempio, ci possono essere molti utilizzi clinici, nella psicoterapia, ad esempio, oppure per creare ambienti di apprendimento completamente nuovi. Ci si può allenare a combattere la paura dell’altezza, gli anoressici possono fare una nuova esperienza del loro corpo, ci sono esperimenti per costruire avatar per le persone paralizzate attraverso un’interfaccia cervello-computer.

Posso decidere liberamente, se voglio essere uomo, donna, transessuale, bianco o nero. Da qui l’eterna domanda: chi sono? Chi voglio essere? Decidere non è allettante?
METZINGER: Se non si perde la propria autonomia spirituale, sì. Cliccando su Internet abbiamo una gamma di opzioni infinita, certo. Ma c’è anche il rischio enorme che ciò che clicchiamo non sia la migliore delle opzioni. Questo ci mette dubbi e in realtà l’essere umano non ama l’insicurezza. Un brillante scienziato inglese, Karl Friston, ha sviluppato un modello matematico, che precisa l’idea di base di Kant e Helmholtz in relazione a ciò che fa il cervello. Semplificando, il cervello fa sempre questo: riduce l’insicurezza, evita le brutte sorprese.
SPIEGEL: Perché abbiamo così paura?
METZINGER: Noi esseri umani col nostro cervello siamo sistemi che cercano costantemente le prove della propria esistenza. Vogliamo costantemente sapere, se esistiamo ancora. Abbiamo bisogno di segni che dicano: non sono morto, sto bene. La vita e la coscienza sono profezie di auto-realizzazione.
SPIEGEL: Così come i maniaci di Twitter o dei selfie, che devono sempre far sapere al mondo tutto ciò che stanno facendo. Come dire: guardate qui, ci sono, esisto.

Quali sono i costi delle conseguenze psicosociali dello sviluppo delle nuove tecnologie, se sempre più giovani diventeranno dipendenti? Presto si potrà entrare in un film porno in modo molto più profondo e interattivo, con un’esperienza corporea completa, che coinvolge anche il senso del tatto, potendo quindi prendere parte direttamente anche ad azioni perseguibili fino a poco prima nel mondo reale. Cosa succederà alle persone? L’industria del porno deve essere fortemente regolamentata, allora?
SPIEGEL: Fino ad ora l’abbiamo seguita: nuovi sviluppi portano nuove conseguenze. Ma nel suo libro “Il tunnel dell’io”, che ha presentato da poco, lei mette in guardia rispetto alla creazione di un coscienze artificiali. Con un’argomentazione singolare.

METZINGER: Dico: se vogliamo mettere in campo un’evoluzione artificale della coscienza – cosa che non succederà sicuramente né oggi né domani, ma forse un po’ dopo sì – allora ci sarebbe un rischio molto alto.
