If you're someone else's boss at work, stop for a minute before you start ordering around
Shouldn’t you be ashamed to ask someone to do something perfectly in a ridiculous amount of time if you cannot even do the same?
Shouldn’t you be ashamed to order someone to clean something if you have never done it yourself?
Shouldn’t you be ashamed of shaming someone for not doing what you asked correctly if you never taught them how?
And shouldn’t you be ashamed of demanding respect from someone if you have never gotten your hands dirty or moved a finger to help them?
In my opinion, not only a future boss, but a future leader should always start from the ground up, from cleaning, from writing documents, from making coffee, from doing the dishes… So when they are in charge of other employees, they know exactly how to do things, so they understand where the other people stand. A person that does not understand his employees’ work will never gain their respect, they will never willingly and happily work under their command.
And a happy employee works twice as good.
