Steph really deserves so much credit for setting up an entire LARP for Ethan with NPC's and props and SO MUCH manpower, from herself and from the town.

i love how alex got so into the bard character for ethan, she may not have known him for long but she really does care for him. i couldn’t leave him behind to pursue the music career
I am just so fascinated by whatever the hell was going on with Gabe, Charlotte, Ryan, and Steph when it comes to Ethan. Like Charlotte OBVS is his mom and that's most important and you've got Gabe trying his absolute hardest to be a decent step dad but then you've also got Ryan and Steph helping parent the child for some reason???? Like the fact that Ryan noticed Ethan was missing first, why the hell was HE looking for Ethan? Or the fact that Steph and Gabe were planning to take Ethan on a trip without Charlotte?
On Ethan's part I don't think I've ever really considered how he would not only feel guilty for Gabe's death, but also essentially breaking up his mom's platonic polycule and potentially losing 2 of the other closest adult figures in his life because of it. On top of knowing that his mom hates him for what happened.
For Charlotte I think her guilt and anger at Ethan and Ryan and Gabe also just makes so much sense. She put so much trust in Gabe and Ryan, enough trust to let them look after her child!!! And in the span of 1 night her child is traumatized, her boyfriend is dead, and the person she trusted to save them fucking failed
I don't really like demonizing any of the characters for their feelings because once you really think about things I feel like all of their emotions are very understandable.
And I really should talk more about how the LARP session was healing for all 4 of them, I know it's very memeable and I like the silly memes! but it's also just. Really one of those moments where you really have to stop and think, oh this is a family. Not the perfect nuclear family but that doesn't fucking matter because they all clearly love each other a lot and they show it in their own unique ways and the larp was probably the first time the 4 of them all did something fun together since Gabe's death and you can tell they all love that kid so fucking much it's not even funny
Max, Chloe, and Rachel are three different flavors of absolute chaos gremlins. These three are beyond your average chaos gremlin though, they’re like the queens of chaos gremlins
Daniel is a chaos gremlin and Sean would have average levels of chaotic if he wasn’t constantly put into situations where chaos is his only option
Gabe and Steph are both chaos gremlins while Ryan and Alex are socially chaotic (only chaotic when the right people bring it out of them). Ethan’s chaos levels have yet to be properly determined but he is on track for being a chaos gremlin
