He felt pathetic and miserable. Generally, Nico didn’t mind the rain, but that was usually limited to when he was inside and just able to watch the rain. Being stuck outside in the rain, without an umbrella or rain jacket, hair plastered to his face and water trailing uncomfortably down his skin was just miserable. And he wasn’t entirely sure how he ended up at Vasya’s door, but there he was.

It’s not often that Nico recounts his full life story, and it’s definitely not often that he does it to an almost entire stranger, but for some reason, he finds himself starting at the beginning and running through the whole experience. Starting at the River Lethe, through the time in the Lotus Hotel then going to school and Camp Half-Blood before he goes on the run. After that it’s down into Tartarus, survival in a jar meant for a god and then ferrying a giant statue half way around the world. There’s Titans and wars and feuds; there’s monsters and demons and ghosts. There’s heartache, loneliness, warped love and self-loathing. And beyond that...beyond that? Maybe there’s hope.

     there’s more than a trace of frustration in luke’s posture. dealing with vasya has made back taut and gestures sharp, and he doesn’t know whether he wants to stop talking and do something already, or if having to figure out how to do it on what he knows right now – which is nothing, she won’t tell him anything – would drive him insane.
