Red Haired Girl x Black Hair Boy Trope
→ moodboard: ESHAL (Midnight At The Pera Palace)
the ship is so special when she’s a redhead and he’s a brunette
I am the righteous hand of God
And I am the devil that you forgot
And I told you, one day, you will see
That I'll be back, I guarantee
And that hell's coming, hell's coming
Hell, hell's coming with me

Eshal (of the) Silverhand. Ranger. Paladin. Maybe more? Who knows 🤭
I’m not going to say too much cos one of the other players in my campaign follows me (hi Lee!) but let’s just say he has a long memory, holds a grudge, and has a wrong to right - and he’ll stop at nothing to achieve that.

One day, stolen from time. Three lives hanging in the balance. And a choice—a choice with the power to change the course of destiny.
They succeeded. The SS Bandırma sailed out of Istanbul on 16 May 1919. George’s plan failed. Everything is, once again, as it should be.
However, when journalist Esra arrives back in her own time, after fixing the mess she’d made of the past, she quickly realises that her wild and reckless heart has set in motion a course of events neither she nor her best friend, Pera Palace Hotel Manager, Ahmet, could ever have foreseen.
Because, somehow, Halit, the man she never meant to fall in love with—the one man she can never, ever have—has found a way to follow her. And his presence in 2022 has the potential to destroy everything.
Now, with sixteen hours to go before midnight strikes and steals away one of the only two people she’s ever loved, Esra has an impossible choice to make...
A choice with consequences that will echo throughout time.

Here we go: my first Pera Palas'ta Gece Yarısı and Esra/Halit fanfic! By the way, I'm totally calling them Eshal now 🙈😂
This one-shot takes place some time in the future, maybe in season 2, after Esra tells Halit the truth about herself and the whole time travel thing.
I don't own the show or any of the characters. They belong to their creators and the production company. This is only fanfiction.

Made For Each Other
The first thing Esra feels as her mind treads into wakefulness is a feather-like touch. Fingers running up and down her back, playing her as if she were a musical instrument. These strong and skillful fingers are the fingers of a musician that are moving over the strings of a violin. And just like a violin starts producing music, all of Esra's nerve endings start singing in response to the touch. That's the moment when the memories from the last few hours start assaulting Esra and she realises just how bare her back is, remembers her overall state of undress.
A hot blush creeps over Esra's cheeks and spreads further down. The next thing she feels is a warm breath against her temple.
"I know you're awake", a soft voice whispers.
Esra cracks her eyes open and is met with a steady blue gaze.
Halit.
Oh my god, he is perfect.
It's the first thought that springs in Esra's mind. The second is that this is what she wants to wake up to for the rest of her life, till the dawn of times - Halit's soft blue eyes, his face. His lips that are slightly bruised from all the intense kissing and biting that Esra remembers doing in the heat of the moment. The same lips pull into a smile.
"Good morning".
Esra shifts slowly so that she's lying on her side. She puts her hand on the side of Halit's face and answers softly:
"Good morning".
They move at the same time, trying to get as close as possible. Esra - threading her fingers through Halit's disheveled hair and then winding her arms around his neck. Halit - closing Esra in the circle of his arms, pulling her on top of him. When the full length of Esra's body comes into contact with Halit's, the reality of everything that happened smacks Esra right in the face.
They're lying on the floor in one of Pera Palace rooms, tangled in the sheets and naked. Esra is pretty sure her and Halit broke the bed and that's how they ended up on the floor. Their discarded clothes are scattered all around them. There's a bedside lamp that's been knocked over.
Esra knows she should feel regret, should be horrified, should be thinking "oh my god, what have we done?!". Getting up and leaving is a wise and right thing to do. Just grab the clothes, get dressed and run. But for the life of her, Esra doesn't want to do any of those things. She knows that what happened shouldn't have happened. It will change everything and complicate things even more. Still, there's no regret. Just all consuming love that cannot fit into Esra's chest. The only regret is not being able to stay like this, to keep Halit with her, to live her life with him, to just be together.
The pain and the frustration bring tears to Esra's eyes. Halit notices them immediately.
"Hey, what's wrong?"
Esra presses her forehead to Halit's and says:
"It's not fair".
"It's okay. Everything will be okay. We're together now", Halit says, trying to soothe Esra.
"But we cannot stay like this!" Esra exclaims.
"We can", is Halit's stubborn answer.
Esra loves him all the more for his stubbornness.
"You know we can't. I told you why".
"Because we are from different times? C'mon, of all the places in the world you ended up here, in the hotel where you were found as a baby. And this hotel brought you back in time. It brought you here and now. Not some other place or other century. Do you think it's anything other than fate that brought you here, to me? I told you: you're made for me. And I - for you".
Esra wants to believe this and give in. So badly.
"I wish it were that simple", she tells him with a sad smile.
"Simple? Our situation is anything but simple, my lady".
Esra laughs softly at that.
"That's better. You should always laugh and smile", Halit says tenderly stroking Esra's cheek.
They look into each other's eyes in silence for a few moments. Then both of them breathe out at the same time:
"I love you".
They start laughing at their synchronized confession. And as Halit pulls Esra closer, she allows herself to have this moment. They'll figure the rest of the fate out later.
