Don had broken into the laboratory, which was quite an accomplishment in his current state, missing leg and eye. He had managed to do so without setting off the security for most of the trip, it wasn't until he finished grabbing what he needed that he heard an alarm go off, it wasn't him who had tripped it unfortunately but it didn't matter, it meant that security would be crawling all over the halls looking for whoever had. If he was found he was as good as dead.
He groaned and made a run for it, the best he could in his condition. As the red lights flashed and he hobbled along using his staff like a cane. He was surprised how fast he had gotten at this, he made sure he'd practised before he attempted to steal the equipment he needed for his new limb and eye.
As he rushed he heard someone's footsteps, his eyes darted behind him to see if anyone was following him but he saw no one, it was at the moment that he turned to crash into a girl? As they both fell to the ground. Don grumbled. "Watch where you're going!" He snapped.
Then his eyes went wide as he recognised her beautiful blue eyes and red hair, which lacked it's usual shine. Black bags under her eyes. No, it could be. "My angel? What are you doing here?" He reached for her desperately. He knew it couldn't be the same April he knew but then that meant his universe had an April for him. One that might not leave him? Suddenly the universe didn't seem so bad after all.
