not to gently dunk on you qifrey but your daughter got there like fifteen chapters ago, good of you to finally catch up to her lmao
(her hand covering her mother's face and the emotion conveyed in the gesture of that hand -- guilt, a protectiveness in shielding her from view, longing -- gets me so bad every time. also agott looking so soft and dreamy through coco vision in both iterations lmaoooo. oh coco. you'll figure it out one of these days. just realized that the characters' places in the lineup are roughly consistent between the scenes (in the center richeh and tetia have just switched position and tartah is gone, that tripped me up) -- we're looking at the same thematic scene from two different POVs even more directly than I realized. one of the several reasons qifrey can't see his own place among the crowd is of course uh well. that he's in it. he's the one looking for us. and in true shirahama style she brings that home so cleverly both in the writing, the repetition, and in the direct visual representation, the pov we're taking on as viewers. coco looks even smaller and more vulnerable through his eyes, as well. love that on her side she gives him a little emotional support olly as she fills in the bigger picture â¤ď¸ it's dangerous to go alone master here have a master olly. notably the only two figures who are directly interacting here.
in a real way apart from being limited by qifrey's place in the crowd we DO seem to have lost tartah, custas and dagda & co along the way :') oops.
my dumb ass reading chapter 94 for the first time: waow this is almost like the scene coco drew that one time...
shirahama who has been clearly and patiently spelling it out in big block letters for me: yeah kid it is almost like that huh
finally I think it's easy to downplay because she's so defined by her fierce compassion, but coco is also so intelligent. she catches on to things so quickly, and she gets right to the heart of things like a scalpel.)
