After a very eventful day, within which most events could loosely be described as negative Mairon had just gotten home. After taking his coat and shoes off in the hall he made his way to the main bathroom next to his bedroom, stripping himself off his tie and dresshirt on the way. Hanging the tie over the edge of the hamper and throwing his shirt in he opened his pants, pulling them off together with his underpants. They joined the shirt in the hemper and were followed shortly afterwards by his socks. Once naked he stepped into the shower, turning the water on on cold.
The cold water caused his skin to tingle, but he reveled in it. Leaning forwards so his forearms rested on the shower wall he closed his eyes and let the water run over him, soak his hair and cool his body down. Several minutes he stayed like this until his skin was cold and his mind had calmed down somewhat. The man dried himself half heartedly, wrung out his hair and then wrapped a new towel around his hips, before returning to the bedroom. There he spread out the towel he had ben wearing over the blankets and let himself fall backwards on top of them.
Staring at the white ceiling he tried not to think about his day.
'I'm lost...'
Balewath almost jumped at the voice in the silence of his forge, quickly looking up from his work table and placing a pair of pliers down. âErestor.. Well, you have managed to find my forge alright..â He observed, standing up and quickly pacing over to the scribe. âWhat were you looking for?â

Leaning his head against the black leather of the seat and closing his eyes Mairon stretched his arms over the backrest. He was alone in the back of the limousine, as usual and the only noise apart from the quiet purring of the engine was the rain drumming on the roof. It had been a very successful day, his company had risen to the top 50 on the stock market and he was in an unnaturally cheery mood.
When he opened his eyes and looked out of the window he saw the silhouette of someone cowering on the ground, just before they were out of sight again. "Thu, stop the car." He ordered his driver and the woman immediately stepped on the break. "What is it?" She inquired, worry evident in her voice. "I donât know yet, just reverse until I tell you to stop." Thuringwethil sighted, but did what he wanted. She had been his driver, and sort of bodyguard, and secretary, according to herself, for almost ten years now, she knew that arguing never had the desired effect.
Staring out into the rainy dusk the man waited until he spotted the figure again, before telling his driver to stop. Putting on his coat and taking an umbrella from under one of the side seats he had his hand on the handle of the door when the woman interrupted him "You are going outside, during this weather? Youâre not telling me to get outside? Youâre going by yourself?" "Oh, shut up!" Mairon replied to the mockery, opening his umbrella before he stepped out into the heavy rain.
Rounding the car, looking left and right for the lights of other passing cars, he crossed the street. They were out of town and only the lights of his own car illuminated the impending darkness. He searched the nearest trees for the shadow he had seen and as he got closer he was able to see the creature cowering under a bush more clearly. Itâs ears and tail held close to the body the feline had curled up on himself, presumably to keep himself warm.
His pants were the coat didnât cover them were already wet when he hunched down near the creature, not too close so he wouldnât frighten it. "Hello, you." Mairon addressed the creature warmly, holding out his hand. "What are you doing out here in this weather anyway? You should be inside, somewhere where itâs warm and dry. Youâll get sick out here." It wasnât normal for him to be so compassionate, but he blamed it on his exceptionally good mood. He had some experience with homo animalis, after all several carni worked for him, but he was known not to be a cat person. Still, he wanted to help. "Come with me, I wonât hurt you. Youâll be dried and youâll get food and milk and you can curl up in front of a fire." He kept his voice warm and inviting, but he didnât approach the feline further as though not to get attacked. "Come with me." He repeated, "I wonât hurt you."

Mairon walked through the ruins of a burning city, occasional screams and broken whimpers filled the air, but otherwise the only noises to be heard were the creaking of burning houses and the gravel moved by his steps. One of the wolves had brought news of another kinslaying among elves and a small group had set out from Angband to gather up survivors.
When elves fought each other there was always hate, even just a little spark, that could be nurtured and fed and used to bring the surviving to their side. Orcs could only do so much and kidnapped specimen would often rather take death over fighting against their own, but a battle like this was a goldmine. Those surviving were seldom skilled warriors but frightened, injured ellons and elleths who had lost everyone and everything during the fight.
Rounding one corner he found a body on the ground, a large wound on his side and half of his body burned. He couldnât see if it was a male or a female, but even though they were still breathing there was no point in taking them, their injuries were too deep. The Maia continued his path through the city until he found another one. This elleth wasnât nearly as severely injured. A wound on her forehead gave away that she had been knocked out and then left behind, her left leg was wedged in under a heavy plank of wood.
He lifted the wood off her with ease, grabbing her under her arms and pulling her up afterwards. The pain that had shot through her leg had her nearly unconscious and so he decided to help with the rest. A little bit of magic and her body sagged in his arms. Mairon placed her on the ground and gestured to the orcs that had followed him to bring her to Korok. The fire demon, one of the lower ranks, was waiting outside the city, gathering the elves brought to him by one of the wolves or orcs. Two of the deformed creatures picked her body up and carried her away.
The last two times a kinslaying had happened the cities or dwellings had been almost completely destroyed and so they hadnât found survivors inside and even though this time most of the city was on fire a lot of it still stood. Yet it were mainly corpses that filled the streets.
It didnât take long to search the city and so the Maia soon returned to the meeting point, pleasantly surprised to see how many elves had been found in the forest and the dunes near the city. Almost all of them where injured, crying, or staring blankly on the ground.
Mairon gestured to Korok and the Balrog lead the way, the elves following him, those who couldnât walk on their own being carried by wolves and the whole group surrounded by orcs. Some of the elves looked at him as they passed, horror or intrigue hushing over their faces as they recognized him.
