The song was still playing. Has it been playing this entire time? Just when you finally paused the short with a yawn—a familiar deep, raspy voice rang out.

"Y/n... Am I gonna die?" You almost choked at the question. Stanley was always a realist, what the hell did he mean by dying? That's when it hit you, it must've been the song! Damn melody actually managed to gaslight a soldier into thinking he was dying in his wife's arms.

Anyway he remembered it after the fever, and it's been your inside joke eversince. The first time you mentioned it though—Stanley was clearly embarrassed, you almost thought his face was raging red from the fever again.
