Ephelayer is pure, practically, Ephemer puts aside his place as leader to make sure that the player is well and safe, even refusing to go alone (although I worry that Brain see that as a problem sooner or later)
Right?
Ephemer is constantly making sure player is safe and not alone and we see it on multiple occasions -- he never wants player to feel like they’re in it alone. He’s risking a LOT to protect player, when he could just ask another Dandelion to go with them. That’s what he’s like... supposed to do. Send people on missions, tell them what to do, etc.
But he INSISTS on going with Player and it’s really sweet and touching and I love that we’ve gone from “he didn’t show up to their plans at the fountain” to “he’s jumping into other worlds, against the suggestion of other leaders, to make sure player gets through okay.”
Brain has a good point that Ephemer needs to stay safe. He IS their leader and anything happening to him would be... bad. Even if he never wanted to be leader, he is, and he accepted the position and is GOOD at it.

Yo so I was just walking my dog when I thought of Tetsuya saying the KHUX menu’s placement for each character is important. So then I thought of the 2.8 cover where they’re all kinda lined up the same 🤔🤔🤔 thing is I dunno if it’s meant to be flipped or not. 🤔🤔🤔🤔 So is it assume that they’re gonna be similar to the foretellers based on placement? Or like what they’ve done? Idk

IT’S ALL GOOD.
I just imagine the other Dandy Kids are very “Ephemer... really? Really.” every time he says player’s just his best friend and Skuld is very pointedly like “I’m your best friend too and you don’t act like that with me.”
Ephemer: That’s -- you’re -- differ-- ............................. oh.
Skuld: Yeah, see.
And then Ephemer gets all awkward and weird around Player who is also clueless and oblivious while he’s all on edge and IN HIS THOUGHTS and Skuld is amused, Ven is happy for Ephemer but also “Girls are gross, I don’t get it, I’m happy for you but... girls?” (because he’s TEN), Brain is concerned about how this will get Ephemer’s ability to work all messed up, Laurium is a teasing Big Brother (because he HAS to be a few years older than the other Dandy Kids) over the whole thing.
Ephemer just ends up a bundle of nerves, which is SO unlike him. He’s so easily confident in most things that it can borderline cocky/arrogant (basically anything except ACTUALLY being named their leader lololololol), but this? THIS totally throws him off of his game.
So he gets nervous and anxious around Player at first, knowing his friends are plotting and planning behind his back -- sorta -- and he HAS to ask Player out now. He wants to do it, but it’s also.
Nervewracking.
And Player can sense something is off/weird, but is also UTTERLY CLUELESS, even when Skuld or Laurium is like “Hey, you should wear that one cute thing!!!” and Ven is like WANNA HANG OUT WITH ME AT ______
They’re not subtle.
