episode 192: Miracle On Skypiea! the Love Song Heard in the Clouds!
i really like this scene with wyper. the world is literally crumbling around him, not only are his people and his homeland being destroyed, but he is one of the last warriors remaining. he is the living history here, and his goal now is to survive and carry on the legend of shandora.
as terrible as this scene is, i noticed pierre laying there, napping almost peacefully
i feel bad for poor conis here. but you can tell she is trying so hard to be brave.
i feel like this sentiment has been said subtly, and inferred even by Gan Fall himself, but it is nice to have it so plainly said that no loss of life is worth the price to pay for the land.
another great moment, and a good angle here too. wyper is finally learning to let go.
i'm sorry but him using her as a footstool to jump off of is one of the most unintentionally hilarious things, given the severity of this scene.
how is he not dead??? like he is rubber, but the ball isn't. and that thing would explode from the intense electric energy??? wouldn't it???
this is a good callback. we heard this before but we lacked proper context. i think we can all guess what the island's singing voice actually is...
conis is too pure for this world.
having this explosion clear up and immediately cutting to commercial is DIABOLICAL

say what you will about usopp, but he immediately starts cheering for his boy whilst the others are standing in shock. he's a bro through and through.
YEAH WYPER YOU TELL HIM
why is he lightning buddha all of the sudden?
this shot is only on screen for a quick second but i love the sense of scale here. luffy is an ant compared to eneru, and that beam of lightning is ten times bigger than him. with the ship and the bell in the background, there is a really good sense of how dangerous eneru is here.
i don't really get how he is running on eneru's arm here, considering he is lightning and doesn't need to be physical to harm luffy.
love that he uses his foot here, not the giant metal ball lol.
love that the skewer is normal-sized, not giant to completely kill luffy instantly.
love love LOVE this shot. they NAILED the energy here. the linework is fast and frantic, and luffy's tenacity just leaps off the page and screen.
i know this is supposed to be the big dramatic fuck you bad guy moment but eneru just being slammed here through his own ship with that pose of like a kid being hit by a dodgeball is so funny.
and there it is. what a great fuckin' moment.
