exam results r in for latin lang and english lit. in the uk we have a 1-9 grading system, with 9 being the absolute best and 1 being the worst. each subject has different grade boundaries depending on the difficulties. these r yr 10 eoys but the grading system reflects the gcses
latin lang: i got an 8 :)
english lit: i got an 8, BUT I WAS 1 MARK AWAY FROM A NINE AHHHH
wait i never posted my greek result i got an 88% but got an 8 bc the grade boundary for a nine was 90%. im still mad.
wednesday results r in (1-9 system, 1 is bad and nine is the best, not gcse just end of years y10)
history: 9, 87%
english language: 9, 91%
latin literature: 62%, 6
predicted grades r in!! (what my teachers think im getting in gcse)
physics 9
history 9
p&r 9
english language 9
english literature 9
classical greek 9
biology 8
latin 8
chemistry 7
maths 7
that seems pretty in line with how i feel and makes me a lot more optimistic to get all/mostly nines in the future. chemistry and maths are for sure my worst subjects, so i can definitely work on those the most over the summer. for chemsitry the goal is more practice tests, and more understanding the basics. for maths the goal is simply more constant revision and a lot of practice papers. since maths is my worst subject i wil be locking in for that the most. then moving up biology isn't a matter of knowledge as much it is a matter of wording, so more practice questions/past papers are the move, and anything i don't know can be gone over. i WOULD have been predicted a 9 in that god awful latin paper if i didn't flop so hard on latin lit, but thats an easy remedy of constant memorisation. for latin language more complex sentence practice is the move, and ensuring all the really difficult sentence structures are known to me (ablative absolutes although im better at those, indirect statements, dum clauses, gerundive) all that bs. and then for my nine subjects thats a mix of maintenance and grade upkeep. all the subjects that were nearly nines (greek, english lit) were moved up thank god, but that just means i gotta actually get the nine. for english lit its just working on more structural analysis, but my teacher is also an evil strict evil harsh marker (i love him sm tho) HOWEVER he is leaving (very sad) and we are getting a rlly rlly rlly good english teacher (i love my current teacher sm but shes sooo good omg) so i think i won't have any trouble. im also planning to get a copy of a midsummer nights dream to annotate and try and make a quote bank beforehand (idk if im ginna do that but i will try doing a midsummer nights dream one asap). with greek its just exam technique and translation practice, so im goingto do the booklet. for everything above that i think i already know my plans #myplans to maintain those niens. anywayyssss
