Kageyama submerges himself under the water, letting it engulf him completely as he moves his arms in front of him. He has on a pair of goggles, and Kozume has a pair as well, even though he’d doubted he would be needing to use them. He swims to the deeper end of the cool water, letting the pressure settle on top of him before pushing off the ground with his hands. He hit the surface strongly, taking a deep breath and watching his hair fall in front of his eyes.

wow its almost been a year since i wrote in here. and im not gonna finish all that other stuff from that last post. i actually had that post in drafts for some reason. anyway, i’ve been...tired. so much has happened these past two years i feel like ive aged 10 years, and yet its also been such a blur too. i started a new job and been working for about 3 weeks now. its coffee bean and tea leaf. the people are so nice its almost suspicious. and it wasn't until a hobo freaked out in the store that i realized im un-phased by those things cause they were so normal where i used to live. this is my first “teen” job. ive only ever really worked jobs that entailed certain professional fields and not barista with drive thru experience. its fine though. pretty easy although instead of me being the younger new girl, i am now older than half my coworkers and a few supervisors. after the past 2 years my finances went down the drain along with my credit score. so ill have to look for a second job cause this 15bucks and hour on part time is not gonna cut it. ive been stressed over money since last December when my government help stopped. for a while my fiance was working side jobs when i need him to work an actual job where he clocks in and gets a steady paycheck. i support him way to much when im the woman in the relationship i should be the stay at home one in the kitchen. its bothered me for a while now. me taking care of him when he should, at least financially. hell a few days ago we bought groceries for 300bucks and he was like it was expensive when can i get money from you and i was like EXCUSE ME? it had gotten so irritating with little things here and there like i bought him a 50 dollar atst figure for his bday while i also buy our toiletries, laundry, and food things. he doesn't buy me shit. when we go out for food is really the only time he pays and even then he sometimes asks me for money. i really needed nonslip shoes for my job but couldn't afford them and it took so much for him to finally say ok you can BORROW my money. i was like fuck you cant just buy them for me? its not even a fun thing its a job necessity. and with all this buying stuff and him asking me for money almost expecting me to do it has gotten me into the type of thinking where i don't want to marry him. ive come to that a few times. though he doesn't know, im sure it'd hurt him, ive come so close to calling off the engagement and just staying this way but where i don't buy him shit anymore. so i made a promise with the Lord last month. i was like ok if by the end of next month he doesn't go out to apply to a steady job, then im gonna have a serious conversation with him about whats at stake. THANKFULLY pretty much at the beginning of this month he started looking for a steady job with tradesman stuff like electrician and construction. i hope that him having a steady income will also fix his attitude and depression. i cant help but remember what my dad told me once.

     “Men need to work and have a steady income in order to care for their families and when they don't have that they feel so helpless and depressed because they feel they are unable to care for their loved ones.” (paraphrased)

This is going to be about love.

Because why not?

A lot of people like to sing, “love makes the world go round”, and one of my favorite films—Dead Poets Society—said, “romance is what we stay alive for”.

And because in a week, it will be Valentine’s Day.

I will write about it even though I am 100% confident that I do not have the right to talk about it. I mean, I have been single for all my life.

Sure, sure. I had flings and all that with other guys, but it’s not love love, you know?

It’s not the ever consuming, passionate, make-you-go-wild-and-crazy, and cry, and even scared kind of love. Nor it was the quiet, calm type of love.

What I have experienced were just sparks which died in an instant. Only a fleeting moment did it last.

And though I know why that happens, I still wonder why? Just to slap some sense into me that I need.

I am not proactive at all. In finding it. And when it’s there.

Here.

I have these walls surrounding me like those walls in Attack on Titan, and I just peek like a curious fool. Interested enough to show a moment of interest, but a fool not to even try reaching for it.

Now, I’ll admit that there are guys lingering.

The “you are my mother” series features a variety of women paired with their children in various poses photographed in black and white.

So, I couldn’t find just one image to examine, but as with any art that tells the story of a national identity and how is combines local and global influences, one image is simply not enough. For example, I chose to examine some art pieces from three distinct Cuban artists. After Cubans gained their independence in 1902, they went through a sort of Renaissance, similar to that of Italy. With three distinct periods of Modernism, Experimental, and Avant Garde work, Cuba created a name in art as it developed its own style. Bold lines, and bold colors are hallmarks of their art. Images also often include descriptions of typical people in Cuba, a nod to the local, the average community member. As for global influences, artist Amelia Pelaez studied in Paris and brought those stylistic influences and teachings back with her to Cuba, using them to boost the unique Cuban art that had been established decades before. While challenging to keep identity and unique complexity while incorporating other influences, some of the best works of art, inventions, and cultural aspects were expanded upon from previous information and actions. Cuba managed this likeliness, creating its identity, while still appreciating the work of everyone else, from the small routine local worker, to the fancy artists from France.

         His voice was quiet, patient, despite the weight of their conversation--weight none of his careful movements appeared to share. The laboratory was a mere backdrop now, overgrown with shadows, snared with the remnants of the past and bad decisions. The former scientist seemed composed of the very strangeness which strangled the ruin about them, given tangible shape--but bled of whatever color life might have given him in life.

He frowned, and allowed a sliver of grief to bleed through his warbling tongue.
