"D-Davis, what is this? Davis, I thought you said a new show premiered on November 25, 2016! Davis, there's already a show named Monster Buster Club-"
First of all, please call me Endive for the time being.
And second of all, this is technically an adaptation of the original series, not a rip-off.
Let me explain...
In the season 16 finale of PBS Kids GO!, me, Wesley (my twin brother) and Eniz (one of the Go-Kids) found out that a new shampoo being sold across the Cartoon World contained some strange and evil chemicals, and that the shampoo was being produced by an evil alien organization from another universe.
To make matters worse, anyone who used the shampoo would become mind controlled by the organization. Eventually, all of their organs and bones would become living alien creatures that they'd spew from their mouth, killing the original specimen instantly.
(IRL Davis input: You heard that right, it would kill them. Yep, this was definitely made during my obnoxious and edgy teenager phase, alright...)
With the risk of thousands of aliens ravaging Go-City, the 3 of us attempted to destroy as much of the shampoo as possible before anyone got hurt.
Unfortunately, while we managed to save many people (including all of the other Go-Kids) from getting possessed, not everyone was as lucky.
Realizing the trouble we were in, Squirt, owner of the Go-Place, used his scientific abilities and skills to get in touch with an age-old secret society to assist us.
With our new gadgets, vehicles and suits at hand, me (the one in blue), Wesley (the one in red) and Eniz (the one in yellow) formed the new Monster Buster Club. Also, while not as secret as the old one, we were sure to not let anyone know about our secret identities.
The weird thing, however, is that the premiere was delayed by several weeks. It was meant to come out in October, but several schedule issues led to it being pushed all the way to late November.
Because of this, the PBS Kids GO! Halloween special that premiered on October 28, "Attack of the Fog", left many people confused, since not many people knew about MBC yet.
While many of the episodes in season 1 (which ran from 11/25/2016 - 7/22/2017) were spent fighting the aliens, a few had us fighting more "metaphorical" monsters (y'know, criminals roaming the streets and stuff like that).
Wesley and Eniz were definitely the most competent of the group, whereas I was still a childish (but also overly edgy at the same time) pre-teen in the beginning.
Not only that, but during season 2, I barely was able to do much (since much of the season was filmed while I was stuck as a penguin).
Feel free to ask any questions that you have about this series.
Oh, and stay tuned for a Fridays segment from the night this premiered.
