Thank you @sfopera tonight we saw Britten’s Billy Budd an opera that explores the darker side of humanity and good and evil William Burden @wsbrdn sang the role of Capt. Vere beautifully his tenor is clear and bright! Christian Van Horn’s @vanhorncvh baritone is amazingly dark is the ships master at arms and terrifying! John Chest @johnchest baritone made is @sfopera debut in the title role he brought the house down in Billy in the Darbies so beautiful hope he comes here often! Other standouts included Tenor Brenton Ryan @brenton_ryan and Philip Skinner! The opera choirs (all men for this opera) and the orchestra acquitted them selves admirably! All in all a wonderful night at the opera!
