(Knowing what’s “healthy”)
ok so when I ate my tacos yesterday I had flour tortillas but I wish that I had corn instead. It’s of course no big deal and I will try next time but I just realized something interesting!
In the past when I was a lot bigger I always preferred flour over corn tortillas and I got flour yesterday bc I thought my preference would still be the same. But when I finished my food I was super full and I imagined how much better my food would’ve tasted if I ordered corn tortillas instead since it would have made me feel lighter, better satisfied, and more fresh since corn tortillas are less processed and have more nutritional value than flour. It’s just cool how my taste preferences have changed since fasting/weight loss!
I also realize that my digestion and bowel movements would be a lot more efficient if I choose corn tortilla since it has more fiber, nutrients, and overall a lot healthier than eating a white flour tortilla!
I’m not saying that flour tortillas are super unhealthy and poisonous hahaha they’re still a good thing to eat and a lot better than true junk foods especially when they’re whole wheat! It’s just important to know how healthy things are COMPARED to others so you know to make better choices that will make you feel great! For instance, corn tortillas are healthier than white flour tortillas. HOWEVER, white flour tortillas are a lottt better than fried chalupa style tortillas! :P
This applies to all foods and basically I’m just repeating what nutritionist Michael Gregor said. He was talking about how it’s not just important to be obsessed with what’s healthy but it’s important to know what foods are healthier (COMPARED) to others! 😃
