What if they were mates and that made the Illyrians (led by Enalius) ally with the Fae.

They couldn't be together because Fionn was married to Theia and he couldn't risk their cause when everything depended on it.

But then Enalius died.

In Silene's Lore Lesson, we see Fionn and two more figures making the Starsword, which Bryce can't make out in the snow — presumably Enalius and Oleanna, who ACOTAR legend tells us as being there too. Theia? Probably there to but there's no reason to hide Theia, so I don't think it's her.

Twin blades, wielded originally by Enalius and Fionn. The King and General. And then Enalius SACRIFICES HIMSELF, Fionn takes the dagger, and NEVER USES IT. It's not just "Oh I'm taking it for myself"! It's "This belonged to my dear friend, I'm keeping it, and no one else is using it, NOT EVEN ME".

✨ The reason Emerie wasn’t included in that particular post is because the post is about the forging of the blades. Azriel is currently the owner of Truth Teller, and in HOFAS he was unequivocally linked to it, its past and future. It’s not just about being an Illyrian, it’s about the blade. Cassian has been compared to Enalius, yes, but again: this post was about the blades and Azriel is the owner.

✨ The reason Gwyn was included is because she is a priestess…like Oleanna was a priestess. It’s simple math. If another important character happened to be a priestess, I would’ve included them as well.

✨ Nesta was included for her ties to Theia and her star and the fact that she now owns the Starsword. Whatever happens from now on with the blades or how they will be linked to the plot, will be about Nesta - not Bryce. I never thought I would have to spell this out, but alas, here we are.

✨If you want to debate about my theory, my comment section is open for healthy and respectful debate. But I’m guessing you’re not there because you can’t properly debunk it and you see the parallels too, as clear as day.

Azriel and I have a love hate relationship, he’s not my favorite character type. The arrogant sad boy, the Jon Snow who isn’t really a Jon Snow because I don’t know anything about him so I have nothing to go off of.

Azriel has a lot of trauma. Trauma can manifest in a multitude of ways, and some of those ways can be the need for perfection; to have perfect wings, perfect flight, perfect lessons, perfect students, to be perfect and to have the perfect mate. Unfortunately I do think this will be his narrative since Moriel was scrapped; Just as Jon always wanted children and a Lady and to be a Lord but since he was a bastard he knew that could never happen.

“It doesn’t matter what I want.”

To strive for perfection and acceptance in all aspects of your life; this is actually where Jon and Azriel are very similar. Jon is a fair swordsman; at the nights watch.

He’s no…Jamie Lannister, or Arthur Dayne or even Barristan Selmy.

Because although Jon thinks very little of himself; being a bastard and a nobody, he is…arrogant, because he’s “better than those he’s surrounded by.”

This is strikingly similar to Azriel. He doesn’t associate with the Illyrians because of (trauma) and …he thinks he’s better than them, and maybe he is, based on what we know now, who we’ve met he certainly is, but Cassian is Illyrian and embraces it, wants to help change it, but he doesn’t hold Truth Teller.

Enalius’ Knife — an Illyrian.

Azriel being arrogant and thinking he’s better than the Illyrians and he doesn’t need to be apart of their culture is — the point. Him holding the knife, is..the point. He’s going to have to face this, he’s going to have to accept who is he. When Jon becomes the leader of the Nights Watch and attempts to bring the Wildlings into the mix (one could argue this could loosely be the Valkyries if we were making comparisons to Game of Thrones still for shits and giggles), if Azriel does this by brute force, saying “I hold the dagger of our people, the blade of our people, do as I say.” He will suffer for this, as Jon does.

Now is SJM, GRRM? Absolutely not. But do I see Azriel being vulnerable? Maybe…through Gwyn which is two birds, one stone. A mate, and a Valkyrie; kill an uprising and hurt their leader.

So do I dislike Azriel? No. I don’t, but Azriel has the potential to be a very complex character and it’s interesting to see where he could go.

Like okay consider this.

Enalius was a warrior god, right? He died defending Ramiel from enemy hoards or whatever.

But picture this: after he died, he ascended to god hood. And as a god of war, he watched closely over the Fae and the humans.

So what if he fell in love with a mortal.

Every day he'd go down, and try to get her to love him, despite any other gods warning him against it, that it was a bad idea, that it wouldn't end well.

And one day, he succeeded. She told him she loved him.

But then, because she was mortal, she dies (either is killed or dies naturally).

Desperate, Enalius goes to the Mother, the Cauldron, whoever, and begs for her life back.

And they strike a deal with him. Her spirit will be reincarnated, over and over again, until they fall in love again. The only problem is, he also has to be reincarnated, over and over again, so he doesn't remember he loves her.

But because he's desperate to see her again, and because he knows that he could never forget her because the sound of her voice is engraved in his soul, he agrees.

After countless reincarnations, he's finally reincarnated as an Illyrian. That Illyrian's name is Cassian.

And his mortal lover?
