2. have you ever found a writer who thinks just like you? if so, who?
no, but I have a couple who have resonated with me significantly. Iāve only read the first book of Twelve Kingdoms, so this may be a trait entirely individual to the character Youko, but Fuyumi Ono basically sniped my capacity for empathy smack in the middle of my sense of belonging problems. IT SERIOUSLY FUCKED WITH ME, like, Iām still kind of reeling. but there were a lot of other deep emotional arcs involved in Youkoās character growth that didnāt resonate with me so closely.
on a broader scale, Teshirogi Shiori has a lot of similar interests to mine and a lot of her characters have relevant mental layouts and character arcs to things I like to write and explore. (ANDā¦ FUCKINGā¦ AGE GAP SLASH TEACHER/STUDENTā¦ PROBLEMSā¦ EVERYWHERE) there are still things I can pick out that I disagree with or view differently! but itās a lot. itās a lot of things relevant to me.

WELL STARTING WITH THE OBVIOUS ONE FIRST I GUESS
SAINT SEIYA: Alone. it continues to be funny to me actually because in a lot of ways, on a simplified level, heās basically an inversion of me lmao. but he has these layers of consideration to everything he does - what do I want, what do I wish I wanted, what do other people want from me. and the struggle involved with both trying to hide or trying to express any of those things.
ZEXAL: there is no single character I pointedly relate to in Zexal! I do relate a lot to certain parts of Astral, and certain parts of Yuma, and some aspects of (specifically later series) Shark. but thereās also always enough level of difference that itās hard to really put myself in their headspace properly.
CIEL: ALL OFā¦ THE MAIN CHARACTERSā¦ at one point I related to January the most, but Lariatte has been the remaining constant. ITāS VERY EASY FOR ME TO ME TO RELATE TO CHARACTERS WHO SEEK OUT EXCUSES TO DEFINE THEMSELVES BY THEIR DEVOTION TO OTHER PEOPLE LOLā¦
MAR: speaking of which, Rolan. though I donāt consider myself terribly similar to him overall but more like, thereās a similar base? gone through different things. probably thatās part of why I tend to read him as a bit more um ārottedā on the inside than a lot of other people in fandom do lol
FIRE EMBLEM: Wil, but actually I relate to a maybe surprising number? fe7 predates a lot of subversion tropes so there are a lot of āwhat you see is what you getā characters, which you think would be the opposite of what I would feel some kinship to, but actually itās. easier? I think because most subversion trope characters are trying to present a different face and itās presented as a malicious thing, or on the opposite end of the spectrum they just look a certain way and people assume they are a certain way without them doing anything and once theyāre talk theyāre like x instead - in fe7 there are a lot of characters like Lucius and Rath who donāt mean to put forth a false impression at all but play into whatās expected of them without really thinking about it, while trying to shove down things they perceive as weak or burdensome to themselves or others. or like Priscilla who is raised and is trying to act proper but keeps losing the reigns just a few steps across the line, enough to be kind of fucked up and make people uncomfortable but never quite enough that people really lose their image of her as a sweet noblelady. that sort of thing.
CFV: I have the opposite problem here than I have in Zexal I relate to EVERYONE. I think I would stack Ren at the top though. wow I donāt have a pattern here
