Now, this merry little calf is always feeling lively — often more so than his friends! He recently became frustrated when his pals Maktao (right), Musiara, and Sattao passed up his invitation to play. Aww....#trunkupwines @dswt ・・・ Some find the pitter-patter of rain soothing and sleep-inducing — but not Emoli! During a recent nighttime downpour, the sound of rain on his stable roof scared him so much that he reached up and pulled the blanket off his sleeping Keeper. Wow, what a before & after! Excellent work @dswt ・・・ Emoli today is nearly unrecognizable from the starving calf we rescued four months ago — swipe to see the now-and-then for yourself! Now recovered, he is loving life at the DSWT Nursery and can usually be found in the company of his best friend, Maisha. The helicopter couldn’t have come at a better time. Timely treatment can make the difference between life and death for an orphaned elephant, especially in the case of all our recent drought victims. Emoli, pictured here, was one of the helicopter’s first passengers back in August — and it was a rapid rescue that saved the starving calf’s life.
