Commission I did for the local Tamagotchi club for their anniversary meetup! Yes this is a life-size handsome tamagotchi cutout that you can take photos with. Yes I did have fun drawing this. Yes he did get raffled off to go home with someone at the end of the afternoon lmao
Tamagotchi Paradise!
These things have no right to be $40. Did I still buy it? Yes. Do I regret it? ...No. I go through phases with this thing. Sometimes I do *not* want to start another Tama because my other one died from neglect (somehow, this iteration is surprisingly lenient) but the baby stage is SO ANNOYING. I get it, that's classic Tamagotchi, whatever. But I have to set aside an hour out of my day to just kind of stare at it or I'll get the little squiggles and get locked out of a certain evolution path right out of the gate! I'm not a super hardcore Tamagotchi person. But I bought it to try and replace at least a little bit of the empty scrolling I do in a day. It works well for that if you can be consistent about it, but sometimes that thing just feels like homework. Even when it's an adult and easier to care for, It's always in the back of my mind. Which might just be a me thing but this is my review so... Anyway, I don't really regret buying it. It's surprisingly fulfilling raising your Tama up to the adult stage and doesn't take all too terribly long. Also none of the stages are ugly so that's always a plus. Typically they evolve once a day and that's slow enough to feel like I'm really getting that slower progression but fast enough to make me want to actually keep taking care of it. If you're like me and never had a Tamagotchi before, maybe consider getting a cheaper reproduction first, but if you really want all the bells and whistles of modern Tamagotchi Paradise has you covered pretty well
