from alicent / the sheer white sleeping gown that she had on trails after her, as she moves graciously like a gust of wind throughout the secret passageways she's grown to know by memory. in the months that he was gone, they gathered dust as she had no reason to use them. now, her prince has returned and she wishes nothing more than to feel him in her arms. there's a candlelight that creeps through the cracks of the hidden door. either daemon fell asleep with it lit or he knows she's coming. how could she resist him? alicent carefully pries the door open. upon seeing him, a warm smile forms on her lips. "my love, you must be tired from the journey." she walks further into the room to set her own candle on a nearby table, then turns her complete attention on him. there is no hesitation as she closes the space between them and moves her arms gently around him. "let me hold you tonight? my bed has been cold for so long."

Such a long absence. Such a great distance. More than he was usually able to bear when it came to his personal but secret queen he could only ever admire from afar within a room full of people. Daemon usually never hold back with his temper or feelings. He usually never was ashamed to speak truths others werenβt ready to hear, but his love for her went deeper than what he used to know and therefore respecting her and shielding her from consequences of their acting was more important than his own ego, which was a weird thing to admit for the prince.
Seeing her today didnβt feel good alone surprisingly, instead it brought a kind of pain over him that reminded him of the torture he went through during his absence. A pain he normally tried to hide and wouldnβt show to anyone, but now was written all over his face when he stood alone in his chambers. Daemon froze as soon as the door had closed and for some reason he couldnβt bring himself to visit his queen that night on his own, so it needed to be her to come see him if she really wanted it. Of course there was a part of him that hoped for it, but that didnβt change the fact that he was unsure if she would really seek for him until he noticed that delicate voice and her warm arms that slipped so gently around his waist.
His hands wandered along her arms with a relieved smile on his lips. His queen came to hold him. To feel him. To need him and there was nothing else more important in this world, was it? βYour grace.β he whispered as his hands took hers to open her embrace and turn around, blue eyes staring down at her darker ones before he raised her hands to kiss the back of them. βMy grace.β His sleeping robe hung loosely over his shoulders and it was easy to place her flat fingers on his chest to make him feel her touch so close to his heart he now noticed pumping against his rib case. Usually he could never feel himself like that but with her it always felt like fire awakened him.
βOf course you can.β he answered while his own hands now ran down her shoulders to take a closer look at her nightgown. βArenβt you cold, my love? Come.β With a gesture of his head he led her to his bed and crawled under the heavy fur to bring it up for her later so she could join him in the sheets. Immediately he grabbed her hands again and led her arms around his cursed and scarred skin he was hiding barely under the robe. It came back to his memory that he must have earned new scars since their last meeting while Alicent still looked as flawless as she ever did in his dreams which made his eyes close in shame before he took a deep breath. βI apologize for my long absence. For the marks I might have brought home. Forgive me.β
