she sees him there , in her lovers mind --------- charlie. just a boy. claudia's first love. claudia's first true loss. it had changed her into who she was in a way that madeleine could relate to , through a different , familial love. but that is what claudia had wanted in the end ---- A FAMILY. he had been the first attempt to give herself the same love louis &* lestat had -- but better , in claudia's mind. someone who was just for her.

( in some way, claudia feels louis still loved lestat. even when they killed him, even after he's been dead in the ground for however long. or, so she assumes. if he wouldn't free himself from lestat then she had to, didn't she ? she had to be the backbone, she had to force him to carry them out in the end. )

eyes continue to linger on @neverburied as she spoke. the smile present, never fading, genuine for once. this was happiness ...
