🦭 Pinniped Post 🦭
I like stuff, and things. Sometimes I talk about them but mostly I don't. With all affection: don't follow if you need things tagged, I remember to tag something maybe three times a year.
I enjoy talking to people, despite being Awkward and Weird. Asks and messages are always open.

Linguistics. I particularly enjoy PIE, but linguistics and language in general are my beloved and have been since I was a very wee thing.
Prehistory
Prehumanity (I'm fascinated by that nebulous wibbly-wobbly long slow process of us becoming us.)
History, particularly: the bronze age; the bronze age collapse; the Greek dark ages; the Etruscans; the Minoans; ancient Egypt, particularly Hatshepsut but all of it generally, up to and including the Ptolemy ptimes; the roman republic; early medieval era, particularly in Britain; three kingdoms period of China; the Renaissance, particularly in Italy; the English Reformation; Regency England/the Napoleonic era; and many, many more.

books
CJ Cherryh. All of it, but especially Foreignerverse. The atevi fascinate me, and if I'm lucky I'll be 1/8th as ferocious as Ilisidi in my old age.
Judith Tarr, particularly King and Goddess.
Vorkosigan Saga.
Discworld. GNU Sir Pterry. I like the Night's Watch books best, but it's a narrow win and almost everything else is tied for second, except the wizard books. They bobble along in a meandering third, arguing about it.
Georgette Heyer's regency romances. Pure comfort food.
The Animorphs
Emberverse (more conceptually than specifically; I have some qualms with the plot and the writing both as the books go on, but I can't deny the appeal of the concept.)
Wolf Hall

Mass Effect (Garrus Vakarian is my space boyfriend)
Fallout (3 and New Vegas, 4 a little, I played 76 but it's not interesting to me from a fandom standpoint.) (Gob and Charon and Dog/God and Hancock are all my boyfriends. It's fine I can have a harem if I want.)
