The Solas memories sidequest reminds me of the Memory Triggers in Andromeda.
The Solas memories have a better pay off though.
At least I got to reunite and run away with egg head.
For all we know, Ellen Ryder is stuck in stasis forever 🤣

they loved their children equally
Head Writer:: Alright, for this new ME game, we need Ryder to be different from Shepard.
Someone: Let’s give them Daddy Issues.
Head Writer: … Anything else?
Someone: … Mommy issues?
yk sometimes i briefly think abt the fact that with the twins being 22 theres a really high likelihood one or both graduated college/university right before they left for andromeda which makes me think that was the last big event they had with ellen.
do you think they cherish that photo in their new quarters? the last time their mother felt well enough to stand for a few minutes and embrace her children — whether or not alec was behind the camera or even there?

CONFESSION:
Of all the sequel hooks in Andromeda, I'm most curious to know what happens to Ellen Ryder. I want to know how she reacts when she finds out Alec put her in cryo, and what she thinks of her child's decisions as Pathfinder.
Surprising headcanons that I now have as a result of First Impressions:
While Palaven was their primary residence, the Vakarian family would spend extensive periods of time on the Citadel as well.
During one of these visits, Ellen Ryder and Mama Vakarian met while receiving treatment on the Citadel. Both of them quickly became close friends.
Through them, Castis Vakarian and Alec Ryder met, as did their children.
Yes, Garrus knows Scott and Sara. However, given that they are several years younger than him, the twins hung around Solana more often than Garrus.
That didn't stop Scott from crushing hard on Garrus (let's be honest, who can blame him?). Even when they were younger, Scott thought he was so amazing and badass. A total case of hero worship, especially after hearing about how he took down Saren. (Scott has probably asked him to tell the story a million times, and Garrus is always more than happy to oblige, much to their sisters' annoyance.)
After Scott's career tanked (thanks, Dad!), he returned to the Citadel for a while before the Initiative's launch. This was around the same time after Shepard died yet before Garrus left for Omega (at the point where he is either seeking to join the Spectres or has returned to C-Sec depending on how ME1 unfolded). They met up one last time to hit the bars, shoot the shit, and say their final goodbyes.
As far as the Vakarians know —besides Castis, obviously— the Ryders were simply going on an extended trip together at Ellen's request.
