ME:A Week Day Two- Relationships
It's day two! Going to talk about the important relationships for my Ryder siblings, Anna and Scott (other than the one between them). @anderfels
For Anna it's her relationship with Reyes. When she first met the smuggler, she was still operating under the 'What Would Piss Alec Off' mindset and knew that her history of Bad Decisions would somehow entangle them- but to what extent she wasn't sure. Then the more they spent time together, the more she started to move away from that and more towards of a 'I like him' and 'there's something I can't figure out about him.' She calls him a "smug bastard" and he just smiles and offers her another drink. It's defiantly lust at first but then slowly morphs into something else. Then comes the showdown in the cave and the puzzle pieces finally click together for Anna. She lets Kelly die but is still mad at Reyes for keeping his secret from her and doesn't talk to him for a week. Then after the fight on Meridian they make out in a supply closet. She likes that Reyes doesn't try to 'fix' her, he indulges her bad habits and keeps her stocked in liquor plus she doesn't mind that she's sleeping with the King of Kadara ;)
For Scott, it's his friendship wit Jaal. He's in a new galaxy, his sister the Pathfinder or in a coma, his dad's dead, and the cluster's fucked. Then they meet a new species of alien and they're kinda like a squid cat. Scott finds how they're so family and SO oriented fascinating since he felt like he was raised by a single parent (since Alec was away so much on N7 missions/diplomatic stuff) and throws himself into learning all he can about the Angara. He introduces Jaal to Earth/Milky Way culture and there are some pretty amusing moments when the translator doesn't work/the are some bumps in the Cultural Exchange (scott almost gets food poisoning trying to eat something that looks like a dragon fruit but Is Not. Scott from the med bay: Worth It). He'll defend Jaal to anyone in the Initiative and has almost thrown hands when it comes to people talking shit (unbeknown at the time Drack was also standing behind Scott in silent support).
