Elkkle made his first appearance on our rader last month when he made a guest appearance on Golden Vessel’s Shoulders alongside Mallrat. The Melbourne composer and beatmaker has since been making an impression with his new single Diderot, a forward thinking and eccentric fusion of pop, electronica, and hip hop that certainly stands out as fresh and intriguing. You can watch the video for the song below, too. He explains of the song’s title: “The Diderot Effect observes the tendency for people to buy things that compliment their identity, and when they buy things that demonstrate a shift in their identity, a spiral of consumption can follow as they seek to abandon anything that no longer aligns with that identity... On one hand, this song is about how we are often powerless against the rationale of the human condition. On the other, it’s about how we grow and change as people and how those in our life come and go unanchored...” You can purchase/stream Diderot at additional outlets, here.
