Today's my birthday !

I thought perhaps I should try something new >:}

I love music, as many people do, and I love sharing and being exposed to all different kinds of music. The "Song for Every Letter" character tag game got me thinking about what songs are actually fitting for a character or theme, versus the songs that are currently my favorites to listen to.

I wanted to create an opportunity for anyone to shamelessly share the song or piece of music that is *your* current favorite. If you discovered it yesterday, been listening to it on repeat for weeks or months or years, find it really meaningful, find it fun or funny, find it super technically well made, you just like it because, any reason at all: please share!

My favorite music this Friday is.....

"The Precipice" by Jessie Mazin!

I've had this song on repeat for the past week+, I just can't get it out of my head. I discovered Jessie on tiktok, through a clip of a live session of her playing acoustically.

I think her voice is incredible, she's very technically talented with excellent breath control and a voice that edges between breathy and grounded. It's also not very common for artists who are plus sized to be featured in much of anything, thanks to the social politics that surround the concept of conventional beauty and entertainment.

Jessie and her voice are both beautiful to me, especially in this video of a live recording by Medium Sized Backyard, which also features my second favorite song of hers - "The Man with Money in His Hands".

Favorite Flower - Speedwell (Veronica persica). It's a local spring wildflower, the yards in my area can bloom all blue if it comes in really thickly in the spring. It's magical <3
