I honestly thought I’d never press into Handstand nor come down landing softly this way, and it’s still work every time I do it. Nothing substitutes consistent practice and, the more you do it, the closer it’ll be. It’s better to do 4 attempts a day, than 28 attempts one day a week. Your body needs time to build itself up, regenerate, digest the lessons learned, understand the mechanics, etc. You can only ‘speed it up’ so much and, if you know someone who accomplished this transition in a few days/weeks, chances are they could do it from the get go, they just needed some time to figure it out, but the strength was already there! That’s the very minority so, don’t despair because there’s nothing wrong with you! This is plain hard and a real physical and mental test… Practice it without expectations, no agenda, no history (‘I did this pose yesterday and today I can’t!! What’s wrong with me??’… forget all that), just do it for the sake of it. The moment I stopped ‘wanting it’ to happen, it came easier. Sofa was a best ally in this one for years. Never give up."
