Them: why do you like procedurals about serial killers, so weird.

I know that criminal minds cannon established Reid’s dad and Gary michels as never abusing him, but I’ve never really been able to get Reid’s dream out of my head. He’s been having that dream for years, since he was a little kid, seeing the basement and the dead kid, and maybe the criminal minds story works in how just hearing about a story like that would have profound impacts on Spencer. The thing is, Spencer isn’t crying out for to get the save the boy, he isn’t yelling for help, he’s saying “get them off me”. And yah I get that he’s talking about the leaches but he’s still a kid, and what do leeches do? They suck your blood, and could easily be his minds way for protecting him from the fact that he was bleeding, hurt. Also with his moms obsession with mideval literature, it’s not exactly a stretch to think that he would know about using leaches as a treatment to heal someone. It’s kinda a stretch, but also kinda not. Also if your a kid growing up with an unstable mother and intrenched in miserable literature it’s not that big of a leap to think a kid(even one as smart as Spencer) might try to use leaches to heal him self.
