ES295 WednESday, courtesy of @tomgibson3783's 2013 #GibsonMemphis VOS reissue. . From a photography perspective I really couldn't ask for a more aesthetically pleasing and photogenic #guitar. But I do have one small photography-specific complaint to the designers at #Gibson about the 295: the arched section that you guys put around the pickup selector switch makes for some weird, asymmetrical-looking shadows in a lot of pictures! You can sort of see the hump around the switch in this shot. It looks perfectly fine except when the light hits it the wrong way. Then it casts a wonky shadow across the top of the guitar. The result is you can't just point and shoot with this guitar in any lighting setup and be guaranteed wonk-free results every time...you have really play around with the positioning of the guitar and/or the light source to get it to look not weird! Now, I'm not an inordinately lazy person*...but getting that shadow to not look bizarre causes a lot more work for me than it should! If you guys wouldn't mind, can you please just go back in time to the early 1950s and redesign the shape of that area for me, it would make my job a lot easier!
