The "boundaries don't have to be battle lines" bit was good but my first thought was, why does there have to be a boundary between queer people and religion? The fact that it's there is what makes it so painful to those of us who straddle this "boundary." It's just very illustrative of how church members think they don't have to be fully inclusive as long as they're nice about it.

So my mom just used some sort of demonic, growling voice to say “UNFRIEND THEM” when Elder Andersen was trying to give good advice about what to do when social media friends don’t wanna hear about religion. This is the woman who raised me, y’all.

My mom laughed at me because I finished the Scripture Mastery verse Elder Andersen quoted: Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not. I mean, she was more laughing because I was mildly peeved about it, but in my defense, I don’t remember many of those verses, so when I do, I’m proud of myself, and I wanna hear the whole thing!!!
