Yesterday Simon and Lucille saw our amazing vet, Dr. Onorati. Simon has a dislocated toe that went untreated so we are trying very hard to correct it, with the hope that it won’t have to be amputated. His bandage was removed on Friday, but his toe flipped back under over the weekend had become swollen. Simon was dumped in a park near Seattle with two other roosters just for being born male. 👎🏼 Lucille saw the vet for her feet as well. He feet were in bad shape when she came in, as you can tell. (Swipe Left) She’s since had a nail trim and was diagnosed with Hyperkeratosis yesterday. It comes from a Vitamin A deficiency from her poor diet before her rescue. Lucille was the lone survivor of two predator attacks as well! Our 3 vet visits this week totaled $771.35. Expert medical care from our board-certified avian vet is not cheap, but these innocent birds deserve the best for the remainder of their lives. They’ve been through so much! To help with their care, consider making a tax-deductible donation on our website. Every little bit helps us care for these beautiful birds. Visit www.skysthelimitsanctuary.org.
