In that same way, it is none of our business what the age difference is between two consenting adults in a romantic or sexual relationship. Barring sexual or emotional abuse, it is not your place to say shit about that because you donāt get to be a proponent of āpro-choiceā attitudes about one thing and not the other. Anyone over the age of 18 gets to make their own decisions. Thatās what being an adult is. If you start to add ābutsā into that statement then you start to give bigots rope to hang you with. If people at 18 or 19 or whatever canāt choose the age of the person they date then surely they shouldnāt be allowed to know if theyāre gay or trans. If they canāt choose the age of the person they date then they SURELY canāt choose the gender of the person they date. Theyāre āstill a childā and ānot mature enoughā for that, right? If a woman at 19 is not old enough to pick who she falls in love with then why should we allow her to make decisions about a pregnancy without her parentās, a manās, or a doctorās consent?
