Don't mind me I'm just thinking about boyfriend Ebern giving his s.o princess treatment. Need supplies? He comes along to the store. He pushes the cart, helps with picking out items, grabbing the bags and storing them away. He's going somewhere? He asks if they want to join him, just in case they feel interested. He's trying out a human recipe he learned about? He asks if they'd like to be his professional taste tester (and BEAMS with joy if they do). He's kind of a try hard but it's cute 😭😭

Doing everything he can to be the Ideal Human Partner gives Ebern a sense of security. If he can prove he's not a monster, then you might not throw him away. You've already given him so much more than a weak, disposable Arrancar could ever deserve— the least he can do is try to pay back your kindness by performing the role correctly. It becomes a point of pride for him, that he can learn the rules of human interactions and carry them out to near perfection (in his mind, that is; the actual results are still awkwardly well-intentioned at best). He's determined to get everything right so you won't stop wanting him.
