Dracoâs hand was poised over the knob when he stopped to listen.
No, itâs going well.Â
Another voice, too muffled to hear, a firecall.Â
No, he doesnât suspect anything, we just got engaged.Â
Dracoâs hand shook, he put it back in his pocket.
The other voice again.
Well, Iâll have access to his vault soon, then weâll know for sure.
Draco felt his eyes fluttering open and closed.
 I have to go.
The sound of footsteps traversing the room. The creak of the door. Harryâs face, wide with shock, eyes darting over him. âWhat are you doing here?â
Draco straightened. âGot off early.âÂ
âDraco, we have to talk,â Harry said, stepping in, trying to close the distance between them. âItâs not what you think.â
âItâs an assignment.â Draco gestured between them. âWeâre an assignment.â
Quietly. âThatâs not all we are."
âWeâre not anything.â He pulled Harryâs ugly fucking ring off and dropped it in the space between them.

Ratio had always prided himself on his sharp intellect, his ability to solve even the most complex of problems with a mere glance. But as he stood just outside the libraryâs archway, listening to the whispered confession escaping your lips, he found himself at a loss.
âI know heâs arrogant,â you murmured to a friend, a book clutched tightly to your chest, âand he talks like he has all the answers. But⊠I canât help it. Thereâs something about him. The way he sees things, the way he challenges everything⊠I admire him.â
His name was never spoken, but there was no doubt who you were talking about.
Ratio stepped into the library, his usual composed expression giving away nothing. âItâs a shame,â he said, making you stiffen. âFor someone so observant, you fail to recognize the most obvious of truths.â
You turned sharply, eyes wide. âWhatââ
He stepped closer, voice dropping into something softer, something edged with amusement. âYou assume admiration is one-sided?â His piercing gaze met yours. âPerhaps, if you were to look at the variables again, you would see the solution has always been within reach.â
You blinked, heartbeat racing. âAre you sayingâŠ?â
Ratio smirked. âIâm saying, if you were to confess againâthis time to my faceâI might just be inclined to give you the answer youâre hoping for.â
Sampo had an uncanny ability to be exactly where he wasnât supposed to be.
Which is how he found himself eavesdropping outside a supply room, arms crossed as he listened to you, of all people, admitting something rather interesting to Natasha.
âI donât know why I like him,â you groaned. âHeâs frustrating, sneaky, and probably lying half the timeâbut somehow, I just⊠do.â
Sampoâs grin widened. Oh?
He waited a beat before dramatically pushing the door open, wearing the most innocent expression he could muster. âWell, well, well! Whatâs all this, huh? Talking about little old me behind my back? Iâm flattered!â
You spun around, color draining from your face before returning in full force. âHow long have youâ?â
âLong enough!â He waggled his eyebrows. âGotta say, sunshine, I had no idea you felt that way.â
Natasha sighed, unimpressed. âSampo, get out.â
âAh-ah, not before I get a proper answer!â He leaned closer, voice teasing but eyes searching. âSo? You like me, huh? Care to make that official, or should I start wooing you properly?â
You groaned, covering your face. âI take it back.â
âAh, too late! No refunds, no returns,â he chuckled. âGuess that means youâre stuck with me now.â
Aventurine always knew when people were lying. It was a skill he had honed to perfection, a survival instinct as much as a talent.
But what fascinated him more was when people told the truth without realizing it.
And tonight, as he leaned casually against the grand casino balcony, he had just stumbled upon a rather delightful little secret.
âI know heâs dangerous,â you admitted to someone, your voice lost in the buzz of music and chatter below. âBut thatâs what makes him so compelling. Itâs like every conversation is a game, and I⊠I canât help but want to play.â
His lips curled into a knowing smirk. Oh, darling, youâre more than just playingâyouâre already all in.
Slipping out of the shadows, he chuckled as you jolted at his sudden presence. âNow, now. Whatâs this I hear? Someoneâs got a little crush?â
You gasped. âYouâ!?â
Aventurine tilted his head, eyes gleaming with amusement. âYou wound me, dearest. How could you not tell me sooner?â He tapped his chin, pretending to consider. âShould I make this interesting? A gamble, perhaps?â
Your breath caught. âWhat kind of gamble?â
He leaned in, voice dropping to a murmur. âA kiss, if you win.â A pause, then a smirk. âAnd if I win? Well, I suppose Iâll just have to take that kiss myself.â
Boothill had been called many thingsâreckless, ruthless, a dead man walking. But blind wasnât one of them.
Which was why, when he overheard your conversation with an old friend in a dimly lit saloon, he wasnât exactly surprised.
âYou ever tell him?â your friend asked, swirling their drink.
You scoffed. âTell Boothill? Please. Heâd probably laugh in my face.â
At that moment, the infamous cyborg cowboy made his entrance, heavy boots clicking against the floor. âNow, sweetheart,â he drawled, teeth flashing in a shark-like grin, âwhat makes you think Iâd do a thing like that?â
Your eyes widened in horror. âYouâ!? How longâ!?â
Boothill tipped his hat, sliding into the seat beside you. âLong enough to hear somethinâ real interestinâ.â He leaned closer, his eyes narrowing playfully. âNow, tell me trueâwas that just some whiskey talk, or do you really got a thing for me?â
You glared at your friend, who was conveniently looking the other way. âI hate you.â
Boothill just chuckled. âThat ainât an answer, sugar.â
You sighed, rubbing your temples. âAnd if I did?â
He smirked. âThen I reckon you just made my day a whole lot more interesting.â

Feeling a little better thought I'd post something funny
(Spencer Reid x fem!reader)
The first incident had been embarrassing enough. The team walking in to find Spencer shirtless, oiled up, and groaning under your care had provided them with enough ammunition for weeks of teasing. But even with all their jokes, Spencer was still Spencerâunflappable in most situationsâand you both thought the worst was behind you.
You were wrong.
Spencer came home from another grueling case, this one involving multiple days on the road and more stress than usual. He walked into your shared home looking like he was carrying the weight of the world on his slender shoulders, which you noticed were slumped with tension.
âBabe,â you said softly, crossing the room to meet him. You cupped his cheek, and he leaned into your touch, closing his eyes. âYou need another adjustment. Youâre completely out of alignment again.â
He nodded without protest, too tired to argue. âYouâre the best,â he murmured, letting you guide him to the office once more.
This time, you were determined to work out every knot, every misalignment. Spencerâs job might be to solve complex cases, but yours was to fix him afterward, both body and mind.
---
Meanwhile, the team, riding high after a case closed, decided once again to check in on their favorite genius. Theyâd teased him mercilessly last time, but Spencerâs reactions were half the fun.
âThink heâs going to yell at us this time?â Emily joked as they approached the house.
âPlease,â Derek said with a grin. âBoy Wonder doesnât yell. He pouts.â
Penelope giggled. âI just hope we get another peek at shirtless Spencer.â
âOh my God, Garcia,â JJ muttered, laughing despite herself.
They knocked, but the door was unlocked. Derek pushed it open, calling out, âReid! You home?â
No response.
The team wandered farther into the house, following the faint sound of conversation that led them to your office once again. As they reached the doorway, they were immediately greeted with Spencerâs voiceâlow, drawn-out, and laced with something suspiciously close to pleasure.
âOhhh, God, Y/N⊠Right there⊠Do that again.â
The team froze.
âSpence, relax,â you said, your tone entirely professional. âI canât get this spot if you keep tensing up.â
âSorry, it justâahhh! Oh, thatâs the one,â Spencer groaned, his voice so borderline sinful that Derek and Emily exchanged wide-eyed looks.
âIs this⊠happening again?â JJ whispered, her hand covering her mouth.
âGuys,â Penelope hissed, fanning herself. âThis is so much worse.â
But they couldnât look away.
You were leaning over Spencer, your hands pressing into his back with practiced precision. This time, though, the team wasnât met with just the sight of an oiled-up Spencerâthey also heard the unmistakable, sharp crack of his spine realigning.
âOh, wow,â Rossi muttered from the back of the group, clearly impressed despite himself.
âHoly⊠Did you hear that?â Emily whispered, her tone oddly fascinated.
âThat sounded so satisfying,â Penelope admitted, biting her lip as another crack echoed through the room, followed by Spencerâs drawn-out groan of relief.
âStop enjoying this so much,â JJ hissed, though her eyes remained glued to the scene.
Another series of cracks came, each one louder than the last, and the team collectively shuddered. It was oddly satisfying to hear, even as the situation screamed awkward.
Finally, you caught movement out of the corner of your eye and turned, your hands still on Spencerâs shoulder blades. âOh, come on!â you exclaimed, glaring at the group.
Spencer lifted his head from the table, a blush already creeping up his neck. âAre you serious?â
âListen,â Derek said, raising his hands in mock surrender. âI came here to clown on you, but I gotta admitâthat cracking sound is amazing.â
âYou guys have to stop walking in on us,â you said, gesturing at the door.
âYou have to stop making it sound likeâlike that!â Emily shot back, pointing at Spencer, who groaned in embarrassment and dropped his face back into the cradle.
âYou all clearly need to leave,â you said firmly, stepping back from the table and crossing your arms.
But Penelope clasped her hands together. âY/N, just one question before we go.â
âWhat?â you asked, exasperated.
âDo you take appointments?â
"OUT!"
Spencer groaned louder, and this time, they burst out laughing.
In April 1967, dangerously unstable ruffian Willie Loomis found a chained coffin. Believing the coffin to be loaded with jewels, he broke the chains and opened it. To his horror, Willie found that the coffin contained vampire Barnabas Collins. Barnabas bit and enslaved Willie, then ventured forth to prey upon the living.
