Buzz-Buzz already knew Ness... which means that he very possibly met him in the future... and based on that idea I made this drawing, the Ness of the present (1994) with the Ness of the future (the year source by Buzz-Buzz)

Earthbound - Endure
Different is a word that gets thrown around a lot by the metal press, as each band tries to outdo another to get noticed above their peers which at times renders the word useless in most cases. But for London's Earthbound. they are truly providing something deserved of the term. Let's break their 2017 EP “Endure” down.
Self-described as a “metalcore/melodeath” 3-piece band, which is probably the friendliest way to describe them, as they borrow a lot from these styles. Skill-full melodeath riffs are peppered into this EP (see opener “I Am Lucifer”), along with heavy breakdown sections to mosh to as well. Moody and eerie intros and interludes too add to their sound. The drums and basslines to are full of interesting moments of experimentation, all leads you to think this band does things differently than the average.
The vocals though are where things really start to deviate from formulas: keeping the only some of core screams as to be expected, but backing them up with old-school death metal-like low growls from something like early Crematory, and then adding clean male melodic Gothic vocals on top. An ambitious choice as Gothic Death metal or Gothic Metalcore is very much a rarity in sound today, but they pull this off very well I feel without falling into too many cliches. The mournful double attack vocals and the themes although a tad strange to some, I feel are really what makes this band a unique experience.
On the downside, the production for the death-growls is a very hit or miss with some of the cleans too, sounds a bit “bedroom sounding”. And I must admit the cold open vocal start of “Mothers ruin” did make me chuckle slightly too when I first heard it. So not all their ideas and combinations work as well as some others: the wobbling “Woah-ooh, Woah-ooh ” vocal lines on “Eve of tomorrow” is a tad tiresome, if it wasn't backed up with some wicked atmospherics, kick-ass bassline, and guitar solo.
Overall this band is one of the most unique sounding have heard in a long time. Lots of rules breaking and bending here away from the norm, really showing us that going that little further, stretching the line, and pushing the envelope just that little bit can yield some amazing results.
