I went to a company picnic yesterday.  I’m not going to lie, I think company outings are kind of a drag, but the picnic involved a cookie competition which in this case resulted in me lingering around the cookie table eating several of these babies:

They’re Earl Grey Tea and Sea Salt cookies.  I’m a sucker for anything involving sea salt and I drink tea as much as an English Queen. I emailed my co-worker this morning and asked for the recipe to share with you today. 

Earl Grey & Sea Salt Cookies

1 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup powdered sugar 1 tablespoon Earl Grey tea leaves – about three tea bags worth 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (or any salt…) 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon water 1/2 cup unsalted butter

Mix dry ingredients in a food processor.

Add the rest & mix till you get dough.

Dump it out on a long piece of cling wrap, squish it out into a rough tube, roll the cling wrap around it and roll it all into a tube.  

Freeze it for at least 20 minutes (can be frozen indefinitely if you just want to make a few at a time)

When chilled, cut into quarter-inch slices.

Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray. Sprinkle liberally with salt.

Place cookie slices on salted cookie sheet; and bake  at 375 degrees for about 12 minutes or until they start to brown around the edge.

Let them cool, and enjoy.

My co-worker even laid a tea string into the dough and make them look like little tea bags for an even cuter presentation.  Aren’t they darling? Oh My!
