Sicktember Day 23 ear infection. Fandom: Mclennon
Paul scratched at his ear again for the 10th time that day. His right ear had been bothering him for the last few days and John was getting concerned.
âIt might be a ear infection Paulieâ John said to him.
Paul frowned âI hope not we have a few days off. I want to spend time with you.â
âMe too Paul but I want you to be looked at so you feel better.â John exclaimed.
Paul sighed and nodded he hated being at the doctor but his ear hurt pretty bad.
So John took him to the doctor.
The doctor looked at Paulâs ears and found a ear infection in his right ear. He cleaned them up so theyâd be cleaned and free of wax so it wouldnât cause any more issues and was sent home with medicine to help clear up the infection.
John made sure to help him every day and took care of him until it got better.
I think itâs a sign of how much physical pain Iâm in when all I wanna do is write hurt/comfort.

Ear Infections
Ear infections, commonly called earaches, tend to occur more frequent in children than in adults. By age three, five out of six children will have already experienced one. The specific type of bacteria that causes pain is called acute otitis media, which can be caused by a cold or flu, injury to the ear, exposure to cigarette smoke, and family history. The symptoms can include:
Pain / headache
Fever
Tugging/pulling at the ears
Fussiness and crying
Fluid drainage from the ear
Trouble hearing
It is always advisable to seek medical attention to verify what is going on if you suspect an infection. The following scenarios call for immediate attention:
Symptoms lasting more than a day
Symptoms present in a child 6 months old or younger
Severe ear pain
Infant/toddler is sleepless or irritable after a cold or respiratory infection
Discharge of fluid, pus or bloody discharge from the ear
As disruptive as ear infections are, they will run their course. To help alleviate the pain you can place a wet, warm washcloth to the ear and hold it there for about 5-10 minutes. For the infection you can address it with garlic cloves which are antibacterial, antifungal, and antimicrobial.
Earache Oil Recipe
1 Garlic clove chopped
1 Tablespoon Olive oil
Small container with lid
Small pan or pot
Cotton ball
Directions
To the pan, add the chopped garlic clove and the olive oil and warm on medium-low heat for 20 minutes
Strain the garlic out of the oil and store in a small container
Cover and keep in the fridge until needed
When needed, bring a small amount to room temperature
Apply a few drops to both ears and massage the oil in
You can use part of a cotton ball to keep the oil in longer but know that most will drain into the cotton
Reapply as often as is needed
This oil will keep in the fridge for a several days. If you need it more frequently, make a new batch each time to ensure freshness. During this time be sure to drink a lot of water to keep the body hydrated and to aid in flushing the body of germs. For a tasty and soothing drink, try chamomile tea. Itâs sweet and gentle and also has antifungal, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and sedating properties.
Until next time, discover the power of natural remedies!
