Long day.
Homecoming 💚
Galarius and Aris return to the Griffin palace, victorious in their quest to defeat Lord Dreganoth and rescue Prince Aravis. Eadra (Galarius' cousin and childhood friend of both the boys) can't believe Galarius was right all these years, Aravis really is okay and Galarius really did return alive and well.
The rest is under the cut!
some Aris drawings! (and Eadra trying to convince her to change into a dress asdfsd)
Griffins,,,, and the dragon who's staying with them lol Galarius, Eadra, and Faecorn
Galarius is the heir to the Griffins! He's not king yet, but with how unpredictable his father's health is he's getting pretty close to being the one running the kingdom at this point. Gallagher (the king) is trying to wait until he turns 18 to abdicate the throne.
Eadra is the king's niece and is like a daughter to him. She and Galarius are as close as brother and sister. She's in love with a soldier on the royal guard (Orwen) but she's too occupied in her duty assisting her ailing uncle to get married. After Galarius is banished she has to take up everything he was doing as well, not knowing if he will ever make it back. 😔
When the Griffin kingdom was attacked by the Dragons 12 years ago, Gallagher was injured and infected by dragon poison that's slowly turning him mad. Since then, he's been trying to find a cure before it takes him completely. Faecorn (really need to rename that dude lol) is a dragon herbalist from the southern tip of the continent. He specializes in potions using his hereditary astral gift of healing to make them especially potent. This has been helping a lot to slow the poison, but hasn't been able to cure Gallagher completely. Faecorn is pretty close with both Eadra and Galarius, and has kinda stepped in as a secondary father-figure to them.

Betrayed Perhaps - Part 8
First . <- Previous
Aris had little idea what was going on anymore. As soon as the door closed Galarius put his hands to his face and wept. The guard standing beside Aris sighed deeply and looked to the floor.
"You know he doesn't really mean it," Orwen said at last, his arm still around Galarius' back.
"He's been getting worse every day," Galarius said, wiping at his face with his hand. "What am I going to do if I lose him?" His voice cracked and Aris bit her lip, looking down to the floor.
"Galarius!" A young griffin woman came running down the corridor to them, her long skirts held up above her ankles and worry written on her face.
"I heard yelling. What's happened, you don't look well." She came up right next to him and took his hands in her own. Galarius swallowed and looked her mournfully in the eyes.
"He's banished me."
The young woman looked taken aback, blinking and biting her lip. "That can't be- he can't do that," She threw a glance to Orwen then back to the prince.
"Eadra, he's the king. He can do whatever he likes." Galarius' head drooped forward.
“Yes, but tomorrow you will probably be unbanished.” Eadra said, squeezing his hands comfortingly.
“Or next month,” Galarius replied gloomily. “He’s been getting worse. Sicker more often and for longer…” He trailed off, looking down at the floor and avoiding her earnest frown. In a smaller voice he continued mostly to himself. “There has to be a cure.”
Aris stared very hard at the floor between her feet. She still felt woozy from the adrenaline, and confused by what had happened. What kind of illness would explain that kind of behavior? She realized bitterly she probably would know, if she had all of her memories. Or she might spontaneously remember a week from now when it would be no longer helpful. Still, it couldn’t hurt to ask.
“What is he sick with?” She said, reminding the group of mourners of her presence.
Eadra turned to look at her, her eyes growing wide with alarm as Orwen frowned and crossed his arms over his chest.
Galarius grimaced. “I’m so sorry you got mixed up in this, you aren’t hurt are you?”
Aris shrugged. “I’m a healer. I might be able to help.”
