he likes to think he wasn't always a pessimist. that something happened somewhere down the line that drove him to this worry addled headspace he has to make a conscious effort to work himself out of. . . but . . .

they're always running from something. always on the verge of some terrifying, wonderful, awful experience is always waiting for them. every time they open the tardis doors something bad happens. . .

“ look, i want to believe that, doctor. really, i do . . . ” and that, is the full unadulterated truth, because he does want to believe nothing bad is going to happen, honestly, nothing would make rory happier than nothing happening at all, but when push comes to shove, as much as he loves @e11evnth, rory doesn’t trust him. not like he should, not fully.

˚₊‧꒰ა 🎃 👻 💀 ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ -> IT'S AN UGLY CROSS .. between a laugh and a sob. she hadn't meant to wake him. she knows that time lords don't require a lot of sleep and only do so when needed. so this must have been one of those days - but her mind was betraying her. her smaller hand held onto the doctor's like he was her only life line to a stable moment. her head slowly nodded. eyes blinking back tears that were no longer falling and her cheeks were stained. flushed pink - half because she was tired and half because she was embarrassed she ran to his room like a child who just had a bad dream. ❝ are you sure ? ❞ she knows he's sure. he wouldn't have said so other wise. but ellie hasn't been sleeping well the past few nights. her emotions are all over the place.

▹ ⁰⁰² ₎ eleven & iris ; iris has such an interesting potential here because she ( and her house with her ) would make such an amazing doctor who episode like. . . the house talks to her because it's full of bones , she has a demon literally in her shadow . she'd be a damn field day for the doc .

▹ ⁰⁰³ ₎ eleven & lucan ; lucan has become so disillusioned by humanity , he needs some of eleven's faith and joy in them to remind him why he left his home in the first place i feel .

amidst the breadth of viscous silence that follows, eyelashes flutter.

ice-cold shock ebbs toward boyish timidity when the tips of his ears suddenly burn scarlet, &. A STRANGLED CHUCKLE FLEES FROM DEEP WITHIN HIS CHEST [ ... ] he wonders how long it had been since another pair of lips had moved against his, but the thought is fleeting. he nearly raises a hand as though to wipe the phantom smudge of lipstick off his mouth.

˚₊‧꒰ა 🐬 🫧 🐟 ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ -> SHE DOESN'T EVEN .. notice that what she needed was missing from the bench. hand absentmindedly reached for the whisk - eyes solely focused on her phone. reading through comments. until her hand connected with .. nothing. her head shot up and brows furrowed - before she noticed the doctor. eyes narrowed , my god he was quiet when he wanted to be , in his hand was her utensil. the human probably couldn't blame him for trying to distract her. she had been spending way too much time in the kitchen. baking instead of sleeping. her insomnia was bad at the moment. and if she didn't sleep soon ... ❝ doctor .. ❞ ellie's tone was pleading already. she couldn't let the batter sit out for too long - other wise the cakes wouldn't rise just the way she wanted them too. she could see that look in his eye. ❝ no don't. ❞ but it fell on deaf ears and then he was gone. come and get it , then. a heavy sigh left her lips - before she pulled off her apron. ❝ doctor , i need that ! ❞ she whined as she followed him out of the kitchen and into the corridor.

she offers a soft smile, stepping a bit closer to him while he stood near the console. a hand slowly raised to hold his bicep, running up and down it slowly.

he wasn't smiling with her, not completely. would the shock ever wear off?
