Navy E-2D Hawkeye, VAW-120, #168749 (2) by Michael DeBock
E-2 Hawkeye aboard USS Nimitz during her last deployment.
Now arriving….
PACIFIC OCEAN (April 28, 2019) -- An E-2C Hawkeye approaches the flight deck of United States Navy nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71).
This unique perspective comes through the windows of the navigation bridge....high above the flight deck.
The aircraft is arriving back home after a tactical airborne early warning (AEW) training mission. (Imagine the sophisticated radar and electronics inside that circular dome atop the aircraft.)
The navigation bridge is two decks above the “71″ on the carrier’s “island.”
