godddddd writing them for killing moon and windmills fucked me up. they appeal to me so specifically because they are mutually so weird about each other. their toxic aro desire for each other but not as they are, as they could be is just so unwaveringly fascinating to me. who is doing it like them oh my GODDDDDD

what I'd love to see more of is exploring how badly owen hurt legs. like legs's turning is cruel. it's violent. it's assault. legs trusted owen once and owen shattered that trust. the ramifications and consequences of this.....

their interactions are so iconic. god. the way they talk to each other. they're just all so good. their sunrise and sunset on their lives. legs wanted to badly to change and owen wouldn't let him, dragging him down with him, but legs still resisted and managed to save someone in the end, not letting owen destroy the doctor

THEY'RE FUNNYYYYYYYY. anon you gave me such a beautiful image. fireshotlocke? I think that rolls off the tongue the best. I like all of their one-on-one dynamics so throwing them all together is great. let's see

I think it's like. avid and pyro both want abolish to save them and abolish would save pyro and avid if it's convenient. abolish unconsciously sees a far less secure version of himself in avid while pyro sees czesław in avid, and avid sees elle in both abolish and pyro in different ways.

if we set it around say session 4 then it's "abolish and his situationships that hate each other" which is hilarious. they're holding hands in a line and pyro and avid are glaring daggers behind abolish's head. maybe if they locked in together they could find the cure faster because they're all searching for it for a time. abolish is pyro and avid's get along shirt. I think if pyro and avid weren't antagonizing each other they could actually find common ground, and abolish generally brings out their calmer sides.

nowwwwwww evil version: post avid in the coven fireshotlocke. abolish vs his evil situationships. they do still make out while trying to kill each other. for abolish it's just work but for avid and pyro it's so personal whenever they fight. avid wants pyro to like him (read: not kill him) so he acts evil towards abolish and pyro grasps for control by giving into his worst tendencies. idk there's a lot of ways the evil version can go. this is beautiful

well you see I watched legs's pov and accepted what was presented to me. they called to me and I answered

ALL OF IT. ALL OF ITTTTTTTTTTTT. I'm just gonna quote myself

I've spoken about why I like them so much before (so this will be brief) and like. yeah I stand by it. they're unparalleled. they're iconic. legundo and owengejuicetv really just did that and pulled it off so well. they perfected toxic yaoi (silly). also the thigh feeding joke is my magnum opus

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

They are among the most pacifistic people in town for the first 5 episodes, Legs in the sense that he consistently tries to make peace between vampires and humans, and Abolish in the sense that he just avoids fighting. But Legs avoids fights because he strongly believes in do no harm (because he was ordered to kill and feels extreme guilt over it), Abolish avoids fights because that's a lot of work and his goal is to do his work and get out and he hasn't been ordered to kill this time (I think vampires would have gone very differently if Abolish had been sent to take out any bad vampires he finds in Oakhurst or any other order that involves murder). If Abolish had revealed his backstory and profession early in the series I think we could've had Abolish replace Owen as the person Legs tries to fix (which would be interesting considering Abolish and Legs both try very hard to approach things calmly. Also Abolish trys to keep his emotions to himself , whereas Owen makes his anger at humanity and at Legundo quite clear ).

abolish and legs are great. I'm such a sucker for "please don't turn out like me" dynamics.

I love how legs's reluctance to fight is out of his immense guilt and burden of duty where abolish is like "🫤 I COULD do something but that's not on my job description for this mission soooooooooo" and they both end up considering fighting around the same time for similarly divergent reasons (legs realizing the only way out may be to become the horrible man again and abolish realizing that they're trapped in oakhurst and he has to veylocke in a little bit)

I believe you enjoy Drift and Cleo as a dynamic. What other dynamics do you enjoy between Drift and another character?

drift has honestly some really good potential in a lot of her dynamics..... I'll shout out a couple underrated ones!! it's been a WHILE since I've watched a full episode from her so this'll just be based on what I remember.

drift and legs! they have some really good parallels (running from their past + visual flashbacks) and their scene in session 5 :( and drift saying she wants to protect him even if she's in the castle :( now I didn't watch drift's last couple episodes so idk if she ever actually mentioned him after that but god there was a lot of potential there.... I really liked writing them for my autopilot fic... monocle duo....

DRIFT AND PYROOOOOOOOOOOO are so parallels. they are so narrative parallels it actually drives me up the wall. driven by fear, under scott's thumb and despite knowing far more about their situation than others just giving in to his manipulation because they don't want to be afraid anymore. the paranoia and uncertainty and bending to what people expect them to act like!! I wrote them for bat week and I'm glad I did

WEIRDDDDDDDDDDD. bottom line: at their core, they parallel each other so deeply. the way they DESPERATELY want to be accepted by others, folding to echo the monstrous behavior that is expected of them especially sticks out to me

I've said it before and I'll say it again: avid saw elle in pyro and pyro saw czesław in avid. avid saw someone turned into a monster that he still can't help but want to save, even as avid lashes out at him. pyro saw someone poking and prodding at them and became the outlet of their growing rage

of course pyro killed avid, and of course avid followed him to the crypt! of course!

they see the worst of themselves in the other, their failures, their kills in each other. the monster and the beast

okay so off the top of my head. I've spoken about their initial haterism, their potential to be so friends (session 6 hangout my babygirl), and the betrayal, so let's talk a little about the aftermath

so avid steals the holy water, apologizing to legs over and over while he does it. he knows this is a betrayal, he knows what he's doing, but if stealing the holy water will make the castle less likely to kill him and more likely to want him, that's what he'll do. legs finds out the water - which avid could make himself just a session before - gone. his voice full of sorrow when he admits that avid is the only one he revealed the lab to that session, the only one who hadn't had an opportunity to do this before. and then legs is done with avid. he doesn't take betrayal well. the holy water is his breaking point.

and then they are the spark for the other's undoing. not the reason, owen makes his own decisions, but the spark.

legs kills avid temporarily. he didn't think he'd be dead forever, but when apo worried that she killed him forever, legs lets out a "what?" before going silent. the confirmation later that they didn't kill him only happens after avid is dead for good. avid's first death here sends him spiraling into the realization that he went too far, that he wants to go home. as he told legs just an episode before, there's nothing left of him if he gets out of here. and, most importantly, owen witnesses this death. he pivots his and pyro's target from apo to avid. and avid dies

avid, flanked by vampires he wants to impress, and by owen who says with such vitriol "I do not have a soft spot for the doctor," tells them that death is too good for legs. that legs has done terrible things, legs told avid that himself, in a moment where they could have mended things between them. that he'd suffer more if he was alive, human or vampire, and owen's eyes light up. owen cites avid in his monologue while he gets legs alone. and legs is turned

just gonna copy some of what I've said about it before because I'm sleepy:

the way they want to connect but just can't understand each other. they try and try and try and it's not enough. shelby is playing house with the man who ruined apo's life and is burying her head in the sand when apo tells her that "they wanna spend eternity with you because they turned you." apo is the bad seed in shelby's happy family and leaves them behind to side with the town that shelby feels rejected by.

apo always trying to make shelby see what her family is really like. shelby wanting apo to stay with them. clashing. foils. they're so foils
