What if he took a little longer, just a few minutes even before even showing up. I'm gonna explain using my durge Cyfrin sjcnf

Cyfrin stares Bhaal in the face, defiance on his face and terror in his heart. Bhaal kills him, and he crumples in a horrid, crunching, very not pretty way. Silence.

Gale can't help but break that silence, rushing past the eerily still cultists and digging in his pack for a revivify scroll. It doesn't work. The runes refuse to glow, and no matter how hard he tried it will not work. Cyfrin lays dead, eyes open, staring, red. His neck is twisted at an odd and excruciating angle against the rim of his armor.

With resignation, Gale carefully rights Cyfrins limbs, the half-orcs hands already beginning to chill. His knees ache but he kneels nonetheless as he does this, face now stitched in concentration as he pointedly asks Karlach to help him maneuver Cyfrin's hulking mass.

She places Cyfrins head in Gale's lap, as he suggests. Gale fixes Cyfrin's hair. It hasn't fully set in that he's gone. He presses his hand to Cyfrins brow, and the tears begin to flow, silent but consistent.

Finally, just as Karlach had convinced Gale they needed to get moving, that they'd bury him proper as soon as they could, Withers makes himself known.

He gives his speech, revives Cyfrin with a wave of his fragile hand, and Gale feels the first pulse of Cyfrins new life

Cyril... The only thing he can remember. His name. He has to hold onto that. It feels right. These urges? The thing telling him to kill kill kill? That isn't him. He knows it. Part of him is enjoying his slip-ups... Part of him is relishing in the bloodshed... At least his newfound friends can work as something to anchor him to himself.

I think Gale is a sleeptalker cause his brain is always so busy, you can't tell me he's not mumbling to himself as he's falling asleep and that absolutely gets carried over to his dreams

I think Cyfrin sleeptalks too, with the brain injuries he's sustained fucking with his REM cycle

Which ends up with both frustrating and hilarious scenarios; like, one is awake and lucid and the other is absolutely neither of those things agreeing to clean something up or pick up a parcel or whatever and then having no memory of the interaction
