My PROBLEM is that this is never acknowledged or written in a way that paints these characters as anything other than entirely sympathetic- as if the fact that they actively benefit from atrocities is no big deal or doesn't change how i as a person of colour from the global south view their characters. Combine that with the [not intentional and very of its time but Deeply White] erasure of people of colour in the narrative [something that only really became a Big Thing in the later comics has anyone else noticed that or am i insane] and you have something that just puts a bad taste in my mouth
