Things had gotten even stranger as the month of October progressed. Not only had you been cursed with being a vampire, the only night you could somehow break the cure was Hallow’s Eve.The one night that you wanted to hang out with your friends and pretend to not be a vamp anymore.

“We’re coming with you,” Bucky told you as you tried your hardest to sneak out. Even as a vampire, your slyness couldn’t get you past Bucky. He threw Steve his jacket and put his own on, “How exactly do we break a curse?”

So, Steve and Bucky joined you. All you had to do was jump off of the highest cliff of the cove into the deepest, darkest water of the cold night and pray that something magical would make you human again. You didn’t believe in magic at first, “Will you hold my shoes?” without waiting for an answer, you tossed your boots at Steve, who caught them with ease.

“Y/N, please think about this for a minute. Nobody’s ever gotten past that cove,” Steve could hear the trecherous sounds of the water lapping at the jagged rocks below the cliff and all he could think about was the numbness he would feel if he lost you.

You unzipped your leather jacket next, fear bubbling up in you, “Why?” it was a simple, curios question. Yet, curiosity did kill the cat. 

“Have you not heard the tale?” Bucky looked down at you with a sympathetic smile, like you didn’t really want to hear it. According to legend, the cove was haunted by tortured spirits that wanted nothing but to make everyone who jumped miserable. That was apparently why the drowning rates were so high for this particular spot. 

The sea water was supposedly supposed to turn into a sort of foaming whirl pool, trapping its hostage under the icy water, “I’m trapped as a vampire. So, it’s either die or stay trapped for forever,” Steve winced at how loosely you said that word. You pulled both of them in for a hug, taking one last deep breath, “I just want to be normal again. You guys undestand that, right?” 

That’s when you dove. Bucky audibly gasped and Steve let out a yelp as you soared freely through the air, more free than you had been in months. The water welcomed you as if it knew what you were doing. Before you touched the water, you froze above it, “Holy shit,” Steve couldn’t help but curse. 

A golden like haze surrounded you and lifted you back up to the cliff. You knew right then that you were normal again. A blood sucking creature no more.
