IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY THAT MORE PEOPLE STILL WATCH, REMEMBER, AND LOVE CANDY CANDY KNOWING THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY I CANT EVEN EXPLAIN !!!
Social Media privilege
I can understand, when it comes to PR people (Youtubers, Celebrities, anyone else popular in social media) get sent free products. Assuming that sometimes a review is encouraged but not necessary you’ll see it all over social media at once. That’s not my problem.
I came across DucleCandy’s video yesterday. It was supposed to be a small “review” and swatch video of the entire (excluding 1) Kylielipkit. She clearly said, she asked her manager to reach out for them since she couldn’t get ahold of them herself. Many of the comments from her subscribers not only mentioned the video was merely a review, but an unfair situation. Now we all know the kind of battle it is every time Kylie restocks her kits. While she’s gotten better at it, it’s still a struggle, especially when a new color is releasing. There are few youtubers who ordered themselves with their OWN money, and if they lucked out, they lucked out like the rest of us. Some, actually got them sent to them and even that’s great!
But here is where I stand.. If you want to give her honesty points for telling us the truth then cool. Yeah she’s well known and somewhat popular. Personally, I find it a little unfair when she should have to wait like the rest of us. Having YouTube “power” should only go so far. I don’t even know if there has been a time where someone actually said they had their “people” contact other people for a product. At that point I’m annoyed. Like, who are you again? Oh you have a big following. Oh you have a manager to do this type of stuff. Ok. No. If her manager went out of their way themselves.. That would be different. Lastly, her review? I got a good clip of swatches. If you read the deets in the description bar she lists the pros and cons. Again, annoyed. I don’t think she stated that’s how she was doing it. Anyway, I’m really no one. Truth? I’m barely even a subscriber. I watch her, yes. Mainly for the hauls, monthly favorites and swatch videos. I don’t personally leave negative or any comments under her videos at all. I've been opinionated before not necessarily for her but other girls on the tube and it was always blown out of proportion.
I don’t have time to deal with any negative backlash that comes with social media these days. It’s really unfortunate.. Wouldn’t you agree?
