Posted @withregram • @mosaic_images On January 12, 1963, Donald Byrd recorded a ground-breaking album entitled “A New Perspective” with an all-star septet, arranger Duke Pearson and a choir led by Coleridge Perkinson. Duke Pearson’s haunting and mastefully performed “Cristo Redentor” became a jazz standard.
