Ductopenia
vanishing bile duct syndrome (loss of intrahepatic bile ducts)
Causes: PBC (MCC in adults), failing liver transplantation, HD, GVHD, sarcoid, CMV, HIV, medication toxicityÂ
Acetaminophen tox: centrilobular or diffuse necrosisÂ
Alcoholic hep:Â hepatocyte swelling and necrosis, Mallory bodies, neutrophilic infiltration
PSC: periductal portal tract fibrosis and segmental stenosis of extrahepatic and intrahepatic ble ducts
TPN (for 2-3wk) --> cholestasis --> fibrosisÂ
Hep B hepatocellular injury, sinusoidal cell reactive changes, inflammation, fibrosis of the portal tractsÂ
