“He’s putting on quite the show,” Buliara said from beside her, tilting her head with a gentle smile. “What a funny voe, down after only one drink.”

“Hylians have never had the alcohol tolerance of a Gerudo,” Zelda replied with a laugh. “I imagine getting him to settle in for the night will be difficult.”

“Oh? Handsy, is he?”

“No, nothing like that,” she said, her cheeks flushing. “But he will likely fight his sleep until he can’t anymore.”

“How silly.”

“Yes, but he’s the sweetest man I’ve ever known.”

“I want to envy you, but I don’t have it in my body to want a voe.”

Zelda laughed and tilted her glass back to finish off her own beverage: a version of a Noble Pursuit that did not involve any alcohol. It was more of a simple juice than anything.

“Is that Link on the ground?” she asked, pointing towards the figure laying beside the fire.

“I believe our Chief has worn him out.”

“Perfect,” Zelda said with a smile as she stood from her bench and made her way over. He wasn’t passed out like she’d expected, but he was gazing at the stars with some odd look that disappeared as soon as she leaned over him.

“Hi,” he greeted, a stupid grin crossing his face.

“Hi,” she replied and she couldn’t help smiling back. “Are you ready to go to the inn? You seem tired.”

Link tilted his head and hummed as if he was thinking, but she knew there was not a single thought behind those sky blue eyes.

“Okay,” he decided and tried to push himself up, but it was little more than swaying and Zelda tried not to laugh.

“I can’t help you up,” she reminded him, putting her hands on her hips.

“You’re not that far along,” Link replied with a huff. It was true, she’d only just begun to show, but she would still milk it while she could and he would let her.

“Come on,” Zelda said with a laugh, holding a hand out to him.

It took them a few minutes, but they made it to the inn with little bodily harm on Link’s part, and Zelda got him into the bed with little trouble–but he did not let her get far before he pulled her down to lay with him.

“Hello,” she said with a laugh.

“Hi,” he mumbled, pressing his cheek to her shoulder. One of his hands snaked to rest on her stomach and if that wasn’t enough to melt her, the gentle kiss he pressed to her skin was.

“You’re affectionate,” she teased.

“I just love you,” he said, a little slurred and very tired. “And I wanna…let you know that…”
