My lover's got humour
She's the giggle at a funeral
Knows everybody's disapproval
I should've worshipped her sooner
If the heavens ever did speak
She's the last true mouthpiece

My church offers no absolutes
She tells me, "Worship in the bedroom"
āIn the crooks of your body, I find my religion.ā -Sappho
Such yearning eyes are lethal
To keep the Goddess on my side
She demands a sacrifice

āThat very night I dreamt of her. The moon was full and the sky glistened with stars. There she stood gracefully, draped in silver silk, dancing in the pale moonlight. I could not help but weep, knowing I could never dance with her.ā
Chandaura and Coronis with fuck me eyes lyrics by Ethel Cain ā¤ļøā¤ļø
Honestly donāt know if I like this, Iāve never done artwork with lyrics but I thought Iād try. Iād like to do more in the future I just need some practice.
Iāve always thought of Coronisā and chandaura when listing to this line in the song. Coronis loves Chandaura, and puts her on a pedi stool, but she is also deeply envious of her. She sees a kindness in her that she wishes she had. She sees how Chandaura was given the same circumstances as her, and still was full of love and light. It angers her, if Chandaura could do it, why couldnāt she? What was so rotten about her that she could never achieve the same level of beauty and kindness she saw in her lover? She tries to stifle her envy, but keeps coming back to that emotion. It builds resentment in her, though she does not truly hate Chandaura.
She saw her as an angel and what she loved most about her was her light. Both of these women love each other, but are also deeply envious of the other, seeing something in them they wish they had. Chandaura wishes to be as cold and strong as Coronis, and Coronis wishes to be as kind and loving as Chandaura. They are two sides of the same coin.
